2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I drank a ton of bottles of this on the cruise ship in the Caribean. Light nose with some corn sweetness. This is a light refreshing beer which is well designed for the hot, humid nature of Puerto Rico. Light malt flavors with a clean finish and only a hint of bitterness in the finish. I asked and there is no Medalla regular.

1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Small can, slugged on the streets of Old San Juan, midday. After watching countless locals swill this as at grimy neighborhood bars across Puerto Rico, I couldn’t help myself. I had to know what I was missing. I’d been hiking the hills of Old San Juan and worked up quiet a thirst. Recent newspaper reports said that low alcohol beer was better at re-hydration than water and are they ever right! This ice cold mini can went down fast and refreshing. I didn’t even notice a buzz. The residue left on my tongue was a metallic, urea quality with a bit of plant material. Cold, fast, and refreshing.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle: Pours a pale golden with a white fading film of head. The aroma displays some sweet grain/white bread and cereal/maize. Fizzy and thin bodied. Dryish flavor for an adjunct lager, but it’s dominated by a vacant rice flavor and has no hop bitterness. Eh.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Pretty decent for water. No foul taste or anything. Welcome to San Juan. Slanged this back in a corner bodega while an old woman tried to get me to dance salsa with her right after I got off the plane.

12oz bottle 1/30/13 (Parrot Club-Old San Juan)-Pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of corn and grains. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew was just another typical pale lager.

I am pleasantly surprised by this beer. its actually a very clean tasty mellow yet very drinkable beer. only slight taste with the malts and very little hops. a wee bit of corn at the end. but its nicely carbonated and quite refreshing.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Not so awful. Hey, this isn’t all that fizzy or dry and is somewhat malty. So, I’d give it marks for thirstquenchingness (is that a word?).

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. thanks to Homer321 for country #83~! Pours crystal clear golden yellow with a small fizzy white head. Aroma is hugely corny, fruity, notes of green pear and cardboard. Flavor is medium sweet with minimal bitterness. Light body. Tick!
