Utterly lower-middling; but very fun when served ice cold on a San Juan porch

Bottle @ home courtesy of Homer321. Thanks Homey! Pours a clear yellow appearance with an off white head. Slightly sweet grainy, a bit spicy, zesty nose. Refreshing, crisp light flavor with a touch of metallic and a hint of lemon. Probably decent on a hot day on a beach in Puerto Rico.

Poured a clear golden yellow with a thin off-white head. Very grainy sweet aroma. Notes of tart dough. The flavor was sweet and malty but light and thin at the same time. Not much of an after taste with a mild bitter finish. It could have been worse.

Bottle/can/draft in PR. Best served ICE cold on draft. Very simplistic beer with minimal flavor. Not bad, not fantastic.

A 12 oz can from the Hampton inn in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I had this while lounging next to the pool with my wife. When you drink in San Juan, this is the only Puerto Rican beer you’ll find. Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager color and appearance. Aroma like most cheaper american lagers but not really offensive. Fairly easy to drink but does have a hint of cheap american malt liquor in the background that makes it come across a little unrefined. Not much bitter attributes and well behaved for the most part, with background metallic hints. Decent carbonation. Finish has that mild american malt liquor alky linger.

Pale golden color; lively bubbles; small white ring as a head. Aroma light, sweet, and corny. Flavor is light, just barely metallic, and lightly bitter but surprisingly so. Thin and watery mouthfeel as expected. Better than most of the cheap American light lagers.

Poured a very pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is sweet with cardboard and some corn. Taste is also a little sweet with rice, corn, and sole light fruit. Slightly skunky. Pretty much your standard macro pale lager.

Had a can from Puerto Rico, thanks Josh. Light pale adjunct lager. Drinkable, but also very comparable to seltzer in taste. Pretty neutral and not as bad as I thought.

nearbeer (3776) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - APR 21, 2013
UPDATED: APR 29, 2013 This is an industrial light lager along the lines of all others brewed in the same general latitude. It smells, tastes and looks like a beer-flavored water. It thrives on the basis of being the best choice (and a near monopoly) on the island. At least it’s always lawn mowing weather in PR.
