Alengrin (2076) - BELGIUM - SEP 6, 2014
The tripel in this series which Huyghe took over from the former Meesters brewery. Orange blonde tripel with loose, quickly dissipating head; fruity aroma, peach, apple, coriander, iron; sweetish fruity taste with yeasty spiciness, bit metallic with thin mouthfeel and thin finish with not too well hidden alcohol. Unbalanced.

33cl, from De Bierloods Adegem, not complex brew, not balanced, clear, small head, nothing special

Papsoe (25085) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 2, 2005
UPDATED: FEB 26, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) In this original version simply known as "Meesters Bier" at 7,5% ABV from Brouwerij Meesters in Galmaarden. Hazy, orangey golden with a huge, frothy head. Very complex, spiced aromas - some fruit. Very dry and refined. Somehow closer to a Saison than a Tripel. 150896 and as "Meesters Galmaarden Tripel" at 270798

JorisPPattyn (7971) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - APR 9, 2004
Orange-gold, very small white rim. Spicey nose, touch of salt, and coriander. Perfumey taste, crystal and colour malts, aniseed, coriander. Very spicey finish. Aggressive burning mouthfeel for a short time, but refreshing in the end. Not bad, but the dryness comes more from the spices than from the fermentation.

Blond beer with a big white creamy head. Light fruity aroma. Fruity and chalky taste. Very light bitterness. A relatively easy drinking tripel.
