2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
The tripel in this series which Huyghe took over from the former Meesters brewery. Orange blonde tripel with loose, quickly dissipating head; fruity aroma, peach, apple, coriander, iron; sweetish fruity taste with yeasty spiciness, bit metallic with thin mouthfeel and thin finish with not too well hidden alcohol. Unbalanced.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 26, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) In this original version simply known as "Meesters Bier" at 7,5% ABV from Brouwerij Meesters in Galmaarden. Hazy, orangey golden with a huge, frothy head. Very complex, spiced aromas - some fruit. Very dry and refined. Somehow closer to a Saison than a Tripel. 150896 and as "Meesters Galmaarden Tripel" at 270798

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Orange-gold, very small white rim. Spicey nose, touch of salt, and coriander. Perfumey taste, crystal and colour malts, aniseed, coriander. Very spicey finish. Aggressive burning mouthfeel for a short time, but refreshing in the end. Not bad, but the dryness comes more from the spices than from the fermentation.
