COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Hawaiian-style European lager is most often described as being very smooth with lots of body and some bitterness. It is an all-malt brew with the tropical taste in mind. This lager has a deep copper color with a malty aroma and subtle fruitiness creating a caramel maltiness on the palate with a sweet malt aftertaste.

Poured from tap to glass. Straw hue with creamy white head. Aroma is straw, sulphur, white peppercorn. Mouthfeel is great with medium light body and zesty carbonation. Taste is dry throughout with bitter sulphur following and a clean finish. Overall this is a nice brew.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2006 Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, toasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs, apricot), with notes of peach and black tea. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Nifty aroma, only slight fault is a faint husky aftertaste. Nice.

Rated in Maui during my honeymoon! Straight copper in color, clear, with a large, off-white head that is quickly fading. Nice floral hops and caramelly malt aroma. Caramel malts dominate the flavor, which is robust yet slightly sour. Nice soft carbonation level. Grains and bread come out in the aftertaste.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2008 Copper body, small white head, nose is quite sweet for a lager. Malts predominate in the body, with a hint of the hops; decent start, weak finish; moderate bitterness. RERATE 4/08: Quite a bit of diacetyl in the nose and flavor.

Had this bottled in Kona, HI. The beer was a clear, medium-amber color with a large, frothy, pale tan head. Aromas included light malty notes of tasted grain and molasses, light hoppy notes of herbs and grass and a teeny tiny notes of apricot and coriander tucked into the back somewhere along with something that smelled of decaying leaves in autumn and maybe raw squash. The flavor started moderatly sweet with a trace of bitterness with a long finish that started with light sweetness and ended with light bitterness. The body was light-to-medium, the texture was watery and the carbonation was fizzy. The aroma was interesting, but I’m not sure that those autumn-like notes were intentional ... or necessarily welcomed.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2006 This lager was enjoyed on a flight to Honolulu on Hawaiian Airlines. Micros on airlines what’s next? The head poured a foamy white and it lasted. The coppery color was clear and attractive. The lager had medium bitterness and a malty taste. I had two even though they cost $5 each.

A pleasant but subtle smelling brew. Pours copper with white head with poor lacing. Taste is great, with very little of the watery taste associated with hot weather lagers. Flavor is a darn decent balance of malts with some bitter hops on the finish. Best local Hawaiian beer I have had so far.

Aroma – Light malts with a some hops in the nose.
Appearance – Light Yellow in color, Nice head and clear as a bell.
Flavor – This had a decent lager flavor. Just really plain in my taste.
Palate – Good lager Mouthfeel, with a dry finish.
Overall – Nice easy to drink beer for the masses this is not for the Beer Geek. There is just not a huge flavor in this beer.

Labled as Tsunami Lager. It still suprises me what you can find at some of these small liquor store in Japan. Hazy copper orange with a finger of white head. Aroma is toasted caramel malts, some earth tones, some herbs, pleasent. Flavor isn’t as nice as the aroma, but it’s not bad. Toasted malts, some sweet caramel notes, and some earth. Finishes with a little hop bitterness. This beer proved to be much better than I was expecting.
