[Tap] Pours a reddish amber color with a rocky looking off white head. Caramel and light brown sugar in the nose. More caramel in the taste. Hints of metal, floral hops and toasted breads are also there. Prickly carbonation and sweet finish. Not too bad, but not very complex either.

from a bottle. Reminded me of mad rivers jamaica red since I had that recently but more watered down. Aroma and flavor are malty, with big tones of molasses and caramel, soft notes of rum spices, balanced by hops but without a real hop profile. Medium bodied, pretty smooth and creamy. Overall pretty enjoyable, but nothing too special.

Tap. Amber pour, with small head. Aroma is toasted mixed grains, a bit of citrus, maybe some cirtrus/fruit. Flavor is some grains and fruit. Palate was clean and not too carbonated. Decent.

On tap at the Yard House in Honolulu, HI. Pours a lightly hazed, amber-red colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice, creamy lacing throughout. Aroma is some caramel, prunes, a light bread, and floral hops. Flavor is similar. A light bready caramel sweetness up front with a light floral fruitiness and a balancing, earthy hop. Finishes clean and dry with a light floral caramel, maybe a touch of toast, and some earth that leaves a light bitterness. Medium length aftertaste following a smooth, medium-light body and medium-high, somewhat lively carbonation. Overall, a decent amber. Pretty straightforward, but balanced and easy drinking.

On tap at Cronies Bar and Grill. Pours copper/red with little to no head. Aroma of caramel malt sweetness. Taste is a bit vegetal along with the caramel. Decent mouthfeel with clean malty finish. Sort of a weird one. Not sure I like it.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2010 Sample at the Mehana Taproom in Hilo. The beer is a clear reddish amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes quickly. Spotty lacing. Caramel malt and fruit in the nose. Medium body with flavors of sweet malt, toffee and fruit. The finish is malty with a sweet aftertaste. Average overall.

Copper pour with a watery head and lace. Aroma of flat caramel malt. Caramel malt and floral hops on the flavor. Medium bodied but a tad thin. Another decent beer.
