Blah...I appreciate the fact that my friend brought this back from Hawaii, but I canít really think of much to say about it because it is just so boring.

The one interesting thing about the beer is the deep red color, it all goes down hill from there. Biscuity, "fat tire" flavor mixed with something cardboardy, a little metallic bite (Iíd assume itís from rye) and a bit of "generic hops."

I hate to waste beer, but I really canít bring myself to finish this so Iím going to click "Add Rating" and pour this out. If I find another bottle Iíll try it again in case this was a bad bottle, but at this point Iím not overly impressed...

Poured from a can. Brownish red. Off-white head that doesn't last too long. Very little lacing. Caramel malt aroma. Not much hops in the taste. Could use more. A little watery. OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours amber with a tan head. Butterscotch and sweet Hawaiian bread. Could use more hops for balance but I like it.

Pours a burnt amber color with an off white head. Caramel, biscuit, toast, toffee and floral aroma and flavors. Medium body and carbonation. Mild oxidation. Caramel and toast finish.

12 ounce can from Hayduke. Opaque orange brown with a big 4 finger beige head. Sticky lacing. This beer brings toffee, crackers, tart tropical fruit that is almost unripe, and fairly big sourness.

Light off-white head; medium amber color, with a slightly cloudy appearance. Mildly sweet; slightly bready flavors; hops are also pretty subdued. Pretty thin body; short finish , slightly sweet and bready. Overall a pretty thin beer, though at least there is some balance between the malt and hops.

Can from Food Pantry Waikiki 191214. Very malty beer this one. Red inged with a lie lying head and not really all that much aroma or flavour.

"not deserving of a WBC bronze, but not bad. more malty than hoppy, so i was left wanting more hops in the taste and aroma, but the carmal malt flavors are quite nice."

Poured from 12 oz. can. Semi -clear amber with a reddish hue and a huge light tan head, for sure over carbonated. Not sure what to make about this one, as it is my third can from the same 6 pack, and they have all been about the same, with this last can being the least offensive so far (perhaps I am getting used to it?) Nose is somewhat malty, a hint of butter. Taste again has that butterscotch hint, so leaning towards the sweeter end. Oily, slick texture with an abrupt finish. In the Islands, so thought Iíd give it a try.

Dark amber. Aroma has a fair bit of diacetyl, something I didnít notice on tap at the brewery. Taste is pretty buttery as well, maybe a bit fruity but really this is a butterfest. On tap the rating would have been significantly higher, as the beer was moderately bitter and balanced - and most importantly clean.
