Bottle, 75cL. Home. A clear brown orange beer with a a small white head. Medium persistence. Bubbly. Fruity aroma, caramel, spicy, herbs. Medium oil sweet balances with spicy refresging bitter. Full body. Oily texture. Medium carbonation. Sweet warming finish. Another (friendly) dragon. Overall, a good spicy bittersweet ale.

330ml bottle from my big brother’s hols. Pours clear golden brown with small white head. Nice lacing. Aromas of yeast, caramel and oranges. More oranges on the taste, perhaps candied peel. Enjoyed this one.

Cloudy amber body and small grey head. Simple malts, doughy, fatty, cookie spices. Unrefined and alcohol. Full texture but that’s because of the boatloads of sugar and unnecessary alcohol. Not nice at all. (33cl bottle from La Houblonière Toulouse)

Pepper bready aroma with heavy alcohol. Copper colour slight haze. Mod white head. Sweetness dominates. High alcohol flavour, seems oxidised.. Medium body. Mod carb. Overly sweet finish? Sorry, an ordinary Belgian. Not a Tripel.

0,33l bottle from La Cervoiserie, Poitiers. Pours cloudy amber with a low head. Aroma is sweet malts with some alcohol. Flavor sweet malts with plenty of metallic alcohol. Not great, but drinkable.

Davros (1893) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JAN 15, 2013
Pours hazy orange/amber with a fading head. Nose shows sweet malt, bready notes, soft spicy phenols and soft booze. Sweet malty flavours too, a bit one-dimensional though. Some booze and bready malt. Body feels overly syrupy. Couldn’t quite work out what the aim was here.

Bottle from E.Leclerc supermarket, Parthenay, France. Hazy amber coloured with a warming, spicy toffee and red fruity flavour with sweet almond notes on the finish.

Bottled 330ml. -at Au Trappiste, Paris. Bit hazy dark golden coloured, small white head that went away fast, hint of wood in rather alcoholic nose. Sweet malty and alcoholic with pretty strong notes of wood. Alcohol is also noticable in the finish. Not bad but one-dimensional.

Bottle at Au Trappiste (Paris). My version had 8,5% ABV. Hazy golden body with medium head. Nose is malty, sweet and inviting. Taste is sweet, fruits (peach). Quite strong, high ABV, with warming finish. Too strong in my opinion.
