3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a very large sized head of foam with a frothy top fine to large sized white colored bubbles that was mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent softly carbonated light and a poor lacing. The smooth aroma was malty and cinnamon. The crisp and clean smooth mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The thin flavor contained notes of spices and mild caramel. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A clean, sweet wort smell emanates from this golden-amber lager. Nice creamy head with good lacing. The flavor tones down a bit, but still delivers a sweet caramel taste with just enough floral bitterness to keep it in check. The finish is a lasting caramel/toffee sweetness. Not exceptional, but quite enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Color is a nice gold to copper hue. Extremely full and lively carbonation. The swirling, volcanic bubbling is mesmorizing and the most impressive and intriguing I’ve seen. Two finger fluffy light ivory head that has extremely good retention. Aroma is buttery, toffee, light caramel malt, and European. Flavor is soft, subtle sweet malt, toffee, and wonderfully balanced with the gentle hop bitterness. Palate is above average, medium mouthfeel, and quite smooth. This is wonderfully balanced beer that I am quite impressed with overall.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sweet and malty aroma has a suggestion of herbal hops. Clear burnished copper coloured body is topped by the lightest film of white head. Nutty malt forward flavour is quite sweet with plenty of crystal malt apparent. Floral, earthy hops are detectable towards the lightly bitter finish. Medium body is a bit sticky with moderate carbonation. While it’s much better than the blonde, I don’t think I’ll be having another. Bottle (Ireland, May-06).

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Menabrea 150° Anniversario Ambrata is a simple Amber Lager. It is one that your macro-drinking friends will enjoy and yet will hold up the BA’s minimum standards as well. I am not saying this beer is exception but it is more than adequate. I first became acquainted with it during the World Cup, (while cheering for Italy) but a friend of mine has been drinking it for years.
Appearance: Pours a clear amber color with a huge white head. Spotted lacing on the glass.
Smell: Malty and sweet in the nose. A bit dextrinous and remote suggestions of a fruity character with very light scent of hops.
Taste: This is a very easy drinking approachable beer that is “cool” as an imported beer. It is in the league with Yuengling Lager in that is thinned out and bit macro-ish but still above average. Ther eis a nice taste of amber caramel malts, a bit of corn then the fruity semi dextrin, artificial sugar / fruity flavor; followed by a bittering hop attribute. The floral hops are especially prevalent in the finish and the best part of the beer is the bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: This is a small beer by American standards but the mouthfeel is not completely limp. It has a solidish malt backbone supported by some nice carbonation.
Drinkability: The feature of the beer is its sessionability. I had 6ers of this at several World Cup parties and it always went over very well with the crowd and the environment. The focus was on the game and drinking and the beer was a tasty side note. If you are looking for a beer to really sit down and critique this may not be the right choice.
Hope this is helpful.
