COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A well-balanced beer with a marked floral fruitiness coming through from the aromatic yeasts used in its production. 11.8P

"Menabrea" is a name famed among Italian beer lovers for providing one of the few examples of drinkable eurolager. This is not necessarily true for the main product, but the "ambrata" can still be a good example of an industrial Vienna lager. The sweetness is dominating but it is anyway not unpleasant.

Faint fruity aroma, pours a clear gold with a tiny white head. A bit thin and watery. Not my beer.

11.2oz bottle. Pours a amber color with a creamy white head. Smells of mostly caramel malt, with grassy hops and a faint skunkiness.Taste has caramel/toffee sweetness plus grassy hops, with a faint skunkiness. Sweet up front but overall balanced. Medium body, light carbonation.

11.2 oz. (330ml) bottle, date stamped 12-12-12, served in a SA lager glass. Pours brown-amber with a creamy white head that soon settles to a lasting top coat and ring, leaving decent lacing. Smell: mostly caramel, with grassy hops and a faint "skunk". Taste: Again, caramel/toffee plus grassy hops, with a more obvious but still faint skunkiness. Sweet up front but overall balanced. Near medium body; light-moderate carbonation. O: suggests an odd cross between a light Euro pale and a Mexican amber. OK but not worth seeking.

Draught. Medium high creamy and lasting off-white head. Clear brown body. Sweet aroma of berries and caramel. Relatively sweet malt caramel berries flavor without much hops bitterness. Low carbonation. Short sweet finish.

bottle. Copper with small head. Lots of caramel malt, big sweetness hits you right away -- could be toned back substantially.

Bottiglia 33cl. Ambrata con schiuma poco persistente. Appena un poco maltata, parecchio carbonata. Bevibile. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iFonz

Probably one of the better amber beers I’ve had. I like the sweet caramel after taste.

Samples from 660 ml bottles. Clear, golden-amber colour with a big, white head. Sweet aroma with caramel and bread malts, some floral hops. Taste is sweet. Medium body, light to creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes sweet with caramel, a note of toasted malts. Decent Vienna.
