Beer connoisseurs will admit their moderate appreciation for Menabrea as being one of the best industrial pale lagers in Italy; I personally never quite found the difference between this and more infamous labels, like for example Moretti Baffo d’Oro. Stays on the drinkable side, but a Eurolager indeed.

La Menabrea non mi ha mai convinto del tutto. Slavata e con un finale amarognolo che non riesco proprio a farmi piacere.

worldbeertaste (1624) - AUSTRIA - SEP 7, 2013
Medium gold with a lasting, lacy, white, thin head. Smells of flowers, hay, malt, grain and toasted bread. Medium thin body with soft carbonation. Tastes of sweet pale malt, butter, light fruit with a bitter corn, dry slightly ashy finish. Enjoyable but not that refreshing on a hot day.

Bottled 330ml. -found somewhere in Italy, rated in Portugal. Pale golden coloured, medium sized white head, cardboardish nose. Slight malty, cardboard and weak cereals with bitterish watery finish. Not good as I’ve expected.

Clean golden body, very bubbly body. Simple grainy taste. Sweet start, simple and very boring. Mild dry bitterness. Okay when very cold, but boring for me. (65cl bottle from Carrefour Market in Torino)

Bottle from Douberd, thanks! Blonde. Hints of bread, grass and apple in the aroma. Thinnish. malty bready soft grassy flavor with apple. Not too bad.

Douberd (2218) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - JUL 20, 2013
Bottle, 330 ml, bought in Italy and drunk at Parga, Greece. ABV 4.8%. Poured into a lager glass. Golden yellow body, a bit more than a finger of white, soapy head , with low to average retention, leaving light lacing on the glass. Aroma of malts and wet cornflakes. Not too insulting but it could be better. Taste is sweet and malty but thankfully the corn is not so obvious, only a bit on the aftertaste.A light bitterness appears but leaves the mouth straight away. Thin body, average carbonation. Fairly dry on the palate. Overall, they could do better for an anniversary beer.

suurjuust (1031) - ESTONIA - MAY 21, 2013
Clear golden yellow, medium white head. Slightly sour malty nose with a hint of hops. Taste is some more slightly sour hops, vague sweetness, mild industrial hops in the finish, Light body, medium carbonation, oily palate. Not offensive, but extremely nondescript.
