2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 lghansen (25) - DENMARK - AUG 24, 2008
It was kind of like drinking popcorn, but the popcorn taste just wouldn’t go away. The taste was a bit sweet and the color was a yellow in between a pilsner and a corona. It’s probably pretty good served ice cold at a drive in movie on a sweltering summer day, and then skip the popcorn.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Sigmund (3495) - Hafrsfjord, NORWAY - AUG 16, 2008
330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV in Norway is 4.7%. Crystal clear golden colour, big and lasting white head. Strong and sweetish fruity aroma. The flavour is fairly clean and zesty, no unpleasant off-flavours, moderate hops in the finish. Definitely not the worst pale lager I’ve had.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Svesse (4215) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUL 11, 2008
(Draught at Bishop’s Arms, Vasagatan, Stockholm, 9 July 2008) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with notes of grain and hints of grassy hops. Malty, bready taste with a nice, delicate grassy bitterness in the finish. Fairly dry. Clean and fresh. A decent standard lager, solid and well made but without leaving the mainstram with an inch.
