Pours pale golden with a somewhat lasting, white head; aroma is light malty, sweet, caramelish with bland hop presence and hints of citrus; flavor is quite malty (for what it is), sweet caramelish with light bitterness in the finish turning a bit rough and harsh in the unusually longlasting aftertaste; body is almost medium with moderate to high carbonation. A bit too sweet to really be refreshing, but well above average tasty pale lager.

Appearance: Pours a crystal clear, pale gold body with a finely-textured, white head leaving a smattering of splotchy lace on the descent. Smell: Lightly grainy, dry maltiness filled out with some modest traces of floral, grassy noble hops. Taste: Minimum pale maltiness along with a touch of graininess and a hint of pilsner malt tang. Whisper of maize. Minor sweetness. Floral, grassy-toned hops with ample bitterness to balance things out. Dry, nicely crisp finish. Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation. Drinkability: It’s decent. 1846 sports an acceptable taste with a refreshing, quenching crisp texture.
