660ml bottle (?, Tallinn) - shared by old Marduk - thanks!
Papery aroma. Looks good, a reddy brown with a nice off-white head. Pretty nasty palate. Vomit burn in the back of my mouth. Nasty.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Marduk (1266) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 1, 2013
660ml bottle beer. Dark, deep brown color. Tiny head, doesn’t stay for long. Not much of aroma. Buttery, faint toffee, malty, dark fruits in aroma. Aroma overall is thin. Buttery, dry yeast, malty, grainy flavor. Dry mouthfeel.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 trevor211 (1187) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 19, 2013
Found this one in a bottle at DeLaurenti -- thanks to Ann for the gift card! Seemed like it was pouring a bit light at first, but the full glass reveals a nice transparent nut brown with a slight reddish note. Brown sugar, figs and dates, and a bit of nut shell on the nose. Flavor brings a tinny note (cheap hops?), though follows fairly well. It has a nice, full, smooth body, and is actually far more drinkable than I’d imagined. This was a nice surprise.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 bitbucket (2112) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - JAN 5, 2013
Pours clear brown with a thick but fading tan head. Aroma and taste of caramel, nuts, with a sort of plastic edge to it. Sweet taste fades into a grainy finish.

Bottle - big thick head, dark amber color, sweet malty/bready aroma and flavor, mild hops - a little too sweet, would have liked a little more bitter hop balance

First U.S. rate. 750mL bottle poured into a large white wine glass. The only reason I purchased this beer is because there are no ratings for it or the 3.5 version. I picked this up at the Wine & Cheese Place in StL, can it be that it was the only store to get these beers? The best aspect of this beer is the presentation starting with the bottle. Its an original 750mL shaped bottle, its embossed, decorated cap, what else can one ask for. The pour is nice, thick head, dark chestnut colored body. If beer was all about presentation then we got ourselves a winner. Unfortunately, I have more than one sense. The rest of it is your generic Euro dark lager. The nose is starting to turn just a little sour, probably age at this point. A slightly sweet lager, pretty light, leafy, metallic, meh.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorgeLee (718) - Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 24, 2012
Bottle acquired in the market in Porto San Giorgio. Pretty cool piece of glass it has to be said. Deep rich amber brown colour, small head. Quite a rich boozy character to it (as with all the heavy bock/dunkelbocks), malt predominates with toffee and caramelly alcohol. Drinks fairly well co sidering strength. I actually think this style struggles for complexity somewhat, but this beer was enjoyable.
