COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bevanda preziosa. Da centellinare in piccoli calici.

Editor’s note: this entry is for the 2010 beer, similar to Roots in Wine, aged for a different period and producing a different result; easily identifiable because the name then changed.

Bottle 25 cl bought @ Bir&Fud Bottega (Rome, Italy). Curious aroma of mou candy, zabaione, Marsala, sweet wine, raisins, cake, some earthy notes. Color among brown, cassock and beige with NO foam. Has a light to medium body in your mouth, although it’s undoubtedly a barley wine: but hasn’t the classic strong and difficult to have flavor, full of liqueur and spirit, On the contrary, its sweetness is pleasant. The alcohol is generously present, but isn’t a shock. Seems a lighter version of the "Vinsanto", a sweet wine from Tuscany usually paired with "Cantuccini", a typical almond and hard biscuit. Finish is good, dry the right. Really good and especially original (+0.1 overall because of that) barley wine, compliments to Menaresta - one of the best recent italian breweries.

06/08/2011 250ml bottle. Corpo medio, carbonazione soft.

25cl bottle from menaresta, 2010 edition. Amber/brown hazy colour, no head at all. Aroma is sweet, lot of fruit, cherry, strawberry, grapes, red apple. Taste is sweet fruit, lots of cherry, some wine, strong acid, a hint of bitterness end. Medium body, a bit watery, no carbonation. I am not a big fan of barley wines, and this is not an exception.
