COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep golden amber in color, our Oktoberfest is brewed with generous blends of imported malt and hops. This Limited Edition Lager is delightfully balanced and very smooth. A perfect complement to autumn!

The label reads Mendocino Autumn Seasonal Oktoberfest....it’s very smooth, has a delicious initial taste, and follows with a delicious rich, malty flavor. I recommend trying if traveling near the northeast. Great for a Fall brew.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, copper colored body with a finger-width, off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is some moderately sweet caramel malts and fruity, spicy hops. A light toasted bread and yeast too. Not bad at all. Flavor is quite impressive. A moderately sweet malt up front before a good amount of spiced fruits come in. Slightly bready malts and yeast as well as a good amount of toasty caramels. Finishes with a little more bitterness than most Oktoberfests, but blends nicely with some toasted malts and sweeter caramels. Lingers for a good amount of time after a medium to full, smooth body and mostly dry finish. Overall, a hoppy, yet malty and toasty Oktoberfest. Rich and smooth with lots of flavor. This was surprisingly good!

picked a sixer up for a steal... ended up drinking all but one on 11/29/2009. it pours an amber-copperish-honey brown color with a small tan tinted off white head. aromas of toffee, spice, earthy yeast, chocolate, toasted nuts, copper, cooked orange peels and dry woody hops. the medium body is very malty and smooth.... rich for the style with a nice dry spicy kick. it is refreshing with a mildly bitter finish and flavors of caramel, sweet grain, chocolate and toasted cashews. nice surprise... i thought this was going to be terrible but it turns out to be well done. 7/3/7/4/16/3.7

Good malty nose, caramelly, with an earthy spice. Pours a rich amber with a thin white head. Smooth, delicately hopped to give it a spiciness, big malt flavor throughout, caramelly upfront, with a nuttiness and a great crisp bite. A good oktoberfest.

This is a very nice Oktoberfest. Aroma of roasted malt. Pour was a very dark amber...darker than most Oktoberfests that I’ve had. No real head though. Taste was very good. Heavily carbonated, strong roasted malt taste with heavy bite from the bubbles. Some caramel in the aftertaste, but not overdone. I am skeptical when I try a new beer from this brewer, but they were dead on with this one.

Pristine, clean and caramel copper in color with a fuzzy grey khaki head fading down to a grey seltzer water fizzling on top. Aroma opens up the bread box with honey oat brown bread and a sweet currant of maple sugar and caramel. Woodsy nougats caress the sides of the olfactory as well. Flavor is hidden at first by the amplified carbonation, but then it comes through full circle with a decadent caramel cube flavor - gooey and fading from the seismic center between the tongue and the roof of the mouth. Hazelnuts and mineral water fade into a chalky, chocolate nougat feel and flavor before transitioning to the aforementioned caramel currents. The freshly baked brown bread continues to leaven throughout. Fuller bodied with detracting carbonation, however, the headline resides in the coattails of each sip, encompassing a leche caramel cube lightly rolled in chocolate talc.

Bottle. Smells slightly of hops but has a good caramel malt smell. Nice amber color. This is the best American made Oktoberfest beer on the market. For those who like Marzen type beers you will love this one.

12oz – Perfect Pour (Fresh 2008 batch). Dark shiny copper, thin creamy off white head. Toasted sweet grainy aromas warm to soft notes of toffee and bread. Malty caramel toast sweetness and grains balances well on soft hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. No complaints here. Another nice seasonal from these guys...

Deep, reddish brown appearance with a large, off white head and moderate lacing. Slightly metallic aroma is saved by the rich caramel malts and soft fruit. Sufficiently sweet, earthy flavors with a cracker-like, malt driven, fruity taste. Pleasant, medium bodied, modestly carbonated mouthfeel with a finish that lingers.

A: snifter. nice tawny color, mostly orange copper. off white head. low retention rate and light lacing. S: some fall fruits in the nose...apples, pears, cinnamon, clove, and a nice caramel malt aroma. T: good mild oktoberfest brew. some apples, pears, and spices. M: low to medium mouthfeel. good carbonation level. smooth and mellow. D: very nice light oktoberfest. good potential and needs a little more malt to me. the hops were coming through too much for the style.
