Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and bread, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2009 Bright dark brown with light reddish notes. Relatively chocolatey aroma that is also slightly nutty and has some fruity notes. There is also some stronger alcohol notes in there as well - a function of the Eye of the Hawk, and to be honest I’m sure what I think about high alcohol notes in a medium strength beer. Somewhat thin, nutty, lightly chocolatey. Light but balanced. Slightly dry accent.

Red black body topped by medium beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, coffee, some caramel. Taste is medium sweet, roasty, coffee. Finish is mild coffee bitter. Medium body. It’s not bad, indeed it’s quite drinkable. At the same time, there’s nothing standout about it.

Something of a chocolate aroma with some toasted malt and dark fruit. Very dark brown color with a tan head that did some lacing. A slight sour note as the glass approached the lips. The body is medium and the carbonation is fairly smooth and moderate. The flavor is toasted malt, with a little chocolate, and some persistent, possibly citrus, sour. The finish is dry, with toasted malt and a reasonable bitterness.
