Sweet malty nose with a touch of caramel. Nice flavor of caramel maltiness and some dark dried fruit. Medium to full on the palate.

Really carmel and coffee aroma with a tan, almost brown head. Dark dark brown color. The taste is nuttty vanilla with creamy smooth after taste. This is quite delish-kiestro. I think it would go best with a chocolate based dessert. The best black eye I’ve ever gotten.

Poured two fingers of head on a black body. Looks nice. The aroma is chocolate, roasted malt and a little coffee. Pretty good except for a slight metallic note. The taste is watered down roasted malt with metallic undertones. There’s a mild bitterness at the end. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. An easy drinker. The metallic notes took some points away, but not good overall.

A very smooth Black & Tan type beer. Very easy to drink with a great roasted after taste. The flavor isn’t typical of blended beers but, it retains interest. Also, a nutty aroma that’s pleasing even to girls. Happy International Beer Day!

22oz bottle - pours black with nice tan foam and good lacing. Very odorous! Nose is caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is roasted coffee, candy sugar and old-timer candy. taste is sweet with an underlying bitterness. For a porter, I expected a more roasty flavor and bitter-er taste. I love this! Easy to drink, lots of flavor, balanced.. It’s likes a candy made for old people that makes them nostalgic every time. I like the fact I don’t have to rationalize why I like it: I just do.

Pours a dark brown / deep red with light body, good amount of carbonation. Smelled of caramel, malt and a hint of hops. Taste also presents with more caramel flavors, and a bit of dark fruit. Fninshed with nice taste retention and a nice full mouth feeling.

Aroma is resin and pine with a bit of hay/roasted malt sour. Dark pour, a good deal of lacing, tan, frothy. Medium body, thin feel at the start but moves into creamy by the finish. This is an interesting one, a blend of the two style has created a beer where there is a noticeable portion of each evident here but they’re perhaps not as well "blended" as they could be. Still, a fine effort and enjoyable to sip on.

On tap @ Freakin Frog. Dark mahogany coloured. A roasty black IPA on the sweeter side with medium hippiness and bitterness. Good, but not awesome.

From bottle dark brown with medium tan head. Aroma is metallic with chocolate and a mild roastiness. The flavor is roast grain with a malt sweetness and some chocolate, but is interrupted by a metallic, steel wool note. Body is rather thin with a powdery bittersweetness. Not sure if I got a bad bottle but the metallic notes on this one made an average beer harder to drink.
