mhelgason (415), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Jul 25, 2008 bottle. slightly above average tan fizzy head into black body (decent lacing). aromas of moderate caramel, moderate chocolate, and light hops. flavor is moderate sweet with a touch of bitter throughout. long finish duration. lively carbonation. watery mouthfeel. actually quite good. Guinness4Duff (429), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Jul 10, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown pour with a ruby tinge and a big tan head. Has an aroma of caramel malt with some hop spiciness. Nice black and tan flavor, burnt caramel with some good bitterness. Pretty good. ilherps (40), USA Jun 22, 2008 This is a pretty good lightish porter. Its a blend of a stout and a lighter ale, but I’d say its more stout. Good flavors of chocolate and roasted malts come through with an off dry finish. Its a great beer with a meal. Wulfstan (433), California, USA Jun 20, 2008 This is a good, tasty porter-type ale that has noticeable characteristics of the two consituent beers. It is very deep red-brown, almost black, with a big, light brown head, bubbly, steadily shrinking to a wispy ring. The aroma is a lot of dark toast with caramleized prunes, a little chocolate, fruity wine. The taste is similar, the elements marry well, and the flavours are consistent. It is also pretty drinkable and smooth with nothing overly strong. KeithD (189), Outer Space, Congo Jun 19, 2008 This is a nice dark brew. It’s robust, with hints of espresso and dark chocolate powder, slightly earthy, with a finish that reverberates between bitterness and a very light sweetness. Your mournful eyes look toward the dismal sky, only to see a freakish creation of cruel nature... a livid hawk bearing not one but two terrifying heads. It’s swooping down from the sky... to mercilessly peck out both of your eyes simultaneously.
