3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 novels (342) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 3, 2012Super smooth and malty, not the heaviest stout I’ve had. Less creamy than most porters, with a super rich dark color and dry crisp finish. Is pretty accessible for a stout- I’d give this to my girlfriend and she’d probably be into it.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 crossovert (4565) - Wisconsin, USA - APR 21, 2013
A more robust in flavor beer than guinness but lacks the subtleties of a typical dry stout.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Sledutah (3192) - Utah, USA - APR 4, 2013

This was ok, but mild and thin

Has a metallic aftertaste. Head dissipates way too quickly. Not as good as expected. I forced this "Black Hawk Down".

Bottle. Pours a near black color with a moderate tan head. Nose does have a dry element to it, with some toasting in there. Taste has some nice roasting on the back end, but is very dry and slightly bitter. Fairly light, too.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 cthomas2390 (115) - Colorado, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Black pour with very luttle head. Licorice/anise on the nose with a faint hint of chocolate. Indistinct flavor, and somewhat thin palate. Finishes dry with a bit of astringency.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 nuplastikk (3286) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 2, 2013
12oz bottle. A nice crisp, hoppy Stout. This is sort of a proto-Black IPA, with its oily specialty malt body and crisp hop bitterness. Relatively tame by todays standards, a pretty decent West Coast dark beer. Doughy chocolate with a hint of resinous mint. OK.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ccex (797) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 26, 2013
12 oz. bottle pours an opaque dark brown with smal vanishing tan head and little lacing. Aroma has lots of figs and prunes, some chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is sweet with a dry but short finish. Body is light for a stout. Carbonation is average and mouthfeel is creamy. An average stout which I probably won’t try again.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20 gregwilsonstl (665) - USA - FEB 23, 2013
Chocolate. Dark black. Thick head. Burnt. Decent. Hint of Vanilla. Nice standard stout.
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 FatTony (175) - Augusta, Georgia, USA - FEB 22, 2013
12 ounce bottle- pours out a semi-translucent brown with a weak tan head. Aroma was fig or prunes. Taste was watery with a weak malt flavor. Palate was thin to nonexistent. So far Mendocino is batting .000 with Fat Tony.
