2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Mr. T’s; Cardwell, MO. Hugely simplistic. Crystal malt + 33 IBU’s + cascade to finish. Still quite refreshing. Worth a try to see how subtle variations can stand apart from this popular combo.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
slightly sweet malty smell, light cloudy appearance, taste a mix of malt and hops, about 50/50, a bit too much hops for me, hops and malt only in taste...nothing distinctive beyond

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 Fl OZ ($7.99 6pack) this was an okay beer. better than a 2.5 but not by much. had a decent flavor going in but finished weird like a pale ale that thought it was an IPA.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
used to be one of the best pales around, but has lost a step, so i have to rate it as it presently is. still a well blaanced pale, earthy hop aroma, and enough malts to balance the flavor. pretty clean if unspectacular."

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a crisp clear golden with a tall 2.5 finger white head and plenty of carbonation fizzing around. Has a grainy bready aroma with a metallic hint and some light spruce. Has a resin and toast flavor with light floral on the back and hoppy bitterness throughout. Mouthfeel is light and refreshing however. Not a bad beer but I expected a little more from a Pale Ale.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle in our appartment, Maui from the wine corner, Paia 25/04/14.
Clear golden with a good sized off white head.
Nose is floral hop, perfume, light citric peel, straw, hint of toasty malts.
Taste comprises light caramel, straw, floral tones, lemon rind.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light hop bitterness in the close.
Low end APA - just doesn’t deliver anything, there are all manner of beers half the ABV banging out 3 or 4 times the flavour !

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Good pale ale. Grainy tongue texture rather than smooth which is good or bad depending on what you want. Nice and hoppy.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours a washed out orange with a small spotty white head. Aroma is stale hops. Very minor citrus note, more grassy. Decent carbonation but also a bit astringent. Not very good.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
355 ml bottle bought at Liquid Assets in Central.
Translucent golden honey colour with thin crust of dirt like yeast sediments; Half finger head and white foam which fades in 30 seconds; Excellent sticky lacing with slight carbonation; Fragrant aroma of rich Ale malt, with strong molasses, nectar, strong blackcurrant, light dark fruits, bread, strong dough, yeast and faint grassy hops; Medium to light sweet taste of Ale malt, with molasses, light dark fruits, strong yeast, light spices, lime, light bitter hops and faint grass; Mid to light body, slick palate; Mouth feel is pretty rich Ale malty, moderate dark fruit taste where the Cluster’s blackcurrant is not as sharp as aroma; strong molasses note with hidden alcohol, expressive yeasty taste. Okay… Hoppiness is strong blackcurrant, light dark fruits, nectar, in nose. Light dark fruits, lime, fairly light spice and low grass in taste; Bitterness is very low for an APA for a lasting low-fi bitter-sweet finish; Dry aftertaste, easy and malty to mouth.
Comments: A pretty weak APA - the Cascade hops is wimpy, with not much floral, citrus and bitterness to speak offItys Cluster’s blackcurrant is strong in nose but weak in palate. So it’s the good maltyness and bready yeast that hold things up. An easy-going Ale? Yes. A serious APA? Nah.
