3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 LeftCoastRider (87) - , Washington, USA - MAR 11, 2013
I am shocked at the low ratings of this ale, although I have not had in in years. So now to my review. However, it is not as good as I remembered it. Pours a cloudy light amber with a small head. Light aroma of yeast. Very malty, high in alcohol. Heavy bodied. Sort of like a winter ale. It’s decent, but not special.

Picked this up in a brew masters sixer(build your own),pours a hazy copper with a small half finger head,no lacing, the nose is malt dominant starting with banana and bread with a faint bit if hops shining through, taste is sweet and malt dominant with a slightly bitter finish not a hop heads delight but the hops are there slightly citrusy...not bad but not great kinda lingers in the middle a solid beer non the less ...cheers

Aroma at first has some cat urine but it gives way to the rich woodiness the way strong ales do as you go through the glass and the hops meld with the malt. I don’t think I’m a big fan of Cluster though. Some citrus, bitter finish. Standard, lower end of the middle band.
3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Fatehunter (749) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - FEB 11, 2013
Poured into a tulip glass with two fingers of head on a cloudy, dark straw colored body.
The aroma is metallic and grain. Not great.
The taste is nice with a strong maltiness, which is nicely balanced by the lemon/grapefruit bitterness.
The texture is crisp and smooth despite the boldness of the brew.
Besides the smell, this is a great ale. It’s big but still quaffable, maybe to your detriment.

Pours cloudy, brown-amber with a shoert tan head.
Scent is caramel malt, bready.
Flavour is slightly fruity sweet with a softly bitter hop.
Barley...slight florals.
A strange, dusty dryness to it...odd.

At first I really liked this beer, but the hot alcohol chemical flavor gets worse and worse and you drink it. It think they must put a lot of white sugar in this beer.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2013 Here we go, pouring into a glass tulip.
Aroma: Smells a little like bread. After that first whiff the smell of my hand lotion took over, so that’s all I got.
Appearance: Pours a rusty ruby-brown color, with about a finger and a half of head. The individual bubbles are pretty large.
Taste: This is a strange tasting beer. Sweet at first, then it changes to bitter, almost sour aftertaste.
Palate: Medium bodied, but it almost seems thin, or slippery.
I got this as part of a build your own six pack. It’s a decent beer, but I personally won’t be buying anymore. It ain’t got shit on some Stone Arrogant Bastard.

Bottle at a strategic planning meeting, should have had 10 to get through that. Pours a clear, golden amber with very slight white head. Aroma is bread, malt, burnt toast. Taste, malty faded hop, banana, other off fruit. Overall, it was beer.

Bottle. Copper pour with white lacing head. Smells of bananas and wheat. Tastes of malt and slight sourness. Not bad but probably would not get again.
