Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

Bottle. The look is a slight haze, off white colored head also lacing, and amber in color. The smell is caramel, hops, malts, sweet, and pine. The taste is sweet, very caramel, cardboard, malts, and grass.

Bottle from a bottle shop in Copenhagen. Sweet and malty smell with caramel. Metallic taste with caramel. Harsh mouthfeel. No this wasn’t for me.

12 oz bottle from Evergreen Discount. Pretty bland aroma and flavor, alcohol, fruit, sweet malts, bread and toffee. Kind of messy and unenjoyable.

Bottle. Reddish copper pour with a white head that dissipates quickly. Caramel, barley, hop, wood, spice. Strong carbonation in a medium sweet body with slight bitter finish. Decent

@ Party Town / Florence KY Clear deep amber, bubbly rim head, light head cover, streaks of lace. Taste is molasses and malt. Midway through the palate, hop bitters try to push through, but are only partially successful. The 8% abv isn’t apparent, in fact, this is big in the mouth with no complexity at all. Overall, reasonable, but there are many better options for American Strong Ale.

355 ml bottle. Almost clear, deep golden body with a rather small off-white head. Quite strong but plain aroma of malt and caramel. Flavor is sweet caramel malt with some fruit and moderate bitterness. Medium body and aftertaste with sweet caramel malt. Absolutely drinkable, but reminds me a lot of a rather malty homebrew that lacks some hoppy flavors. This is old school. Alcohol is well hidden btw.

12 oz bottle. Appearance: small white white to tan head that dissipates quickly, orange color, very cloudy, Aroma: coriander, bread, caramel, floral, pitted fruit, citrus, leather. Palate: medium body, average-lively carbonation, sticky thick texture, lasting bitter and metallic finish. Taste: subtle sweetness at first, followed by metallic tartness that build until swallowed and then a bitterness builds slowly. Overall, love the smell, don’t really like appearance or finish. Drinkable, but not anything I would look forward to.

From bottle. Pours a pale copper with almost no head. Nose is bread malt, yeast and perhaps some fruit and spice. Somewhat oily mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Earthy, cardboard taste with some dehydrated fruit. Hops are way down in the mix. Dry finish. Notable as an easy to drink 8% beer. Nothing else really stands out.
