COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Imperial Barley Wine Style Ale has a rich amber color with a full, robust body. This Barley Wine Style Ale has a traditional warming malt flavor with a delightful hop finish, While exceptionally drinkable now, it will continue to improve with age - taking on subtle flavors of dark fruit, sherry and anise. Hop flavors and aromas will become more rounded and luscious caramel malt notes will become more intense. Brewed with an astonishing original gravity of 24 Plato and finishing at 11.0% alcohol by volume, this Imperial Barley Wine Ale is not for the faint of heart, though it will reward the adventurous drinker with an unparalleled taste experience.

Poured from a bottle in Wichita, KS an orange brown with a thin yellow head. Aroma of caramel and toffee. Taste is sweet with a marked bitterness that holds through the finish. This is a nice barley wine that I suspect would be even better aged a year or two.

It does have a sherry aroma with roasted malts. It is ruby brown in color with a fluffy, light brown head. It has a strong sherry tasted with other malts and a bit overpowering alcoholic flavor. It definitely has a fruitfulness to it as well. It has a rich texture that is slightly creamy.

This is a pretty good barleywine. It is dominated by caramel, but with hints of toffee and plum.

12 oz bottle for 3 bucks. Pours almost straight brown with a slightly off-white head. Looks the part. Aroma is caramel, malt and a little bit of wood and fruit. Taste is mostly caramel, malt, a little hoppy and a little alcohol but hardly overpowering. Body is a little thicker, average carbonation, a little creamy as well. Not a very complex barley wine but very easy to drink. I like this one quite a bit.

For me: maybe? Good for variety or for others who aren't wanting too much bitterness. Pretty floral/fruity, sweet malty-ness, but still nice amber color and tones.
