Bottle. Orange caramel and orange peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Sweet caramel malt and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. Nice balance. Pretty good.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20 Patrickctenchi (1700) - columbus, Indiana, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Pours light orange, hazed...with a short tan head.
A slightly musty cardboard aroma, must be the elaborate mix of hops or age....
Taste is caramel, dusty, dull fruit.
Not thrilled with it.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 trapped (336) - TURKEY - MAR 31, 2013
Drought. Light amber color, spongy beige head, hops aroma, sweet hoppy taste, long finish. A typical IPA.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Gription79 (1604) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - MAR 26, 2013
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. The aroma is hoppy, resin, pine, some oxidization. The flavor is caramel, resin, pine, woody, oxidized. Not amazing, a basic IIPA.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ed5388 (522) - Forked River, New Jersey, USA - MAR 16, 2013
12oz bottle thanks to Dallas! Pours a hazy deep copper color with medium creamy head retention. Aroma is syrupy malt (its not an old IPA), apricot, and caramel. Tastes is grapefruit, apricot, caramel, with some piny aftertaste. Pretty basic ipa
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 maekchu (1093) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAR 10, 2013
Bottle from Five Points Bottle Shop (Atlanta Highway) in Athens. Dark sugary aroma, some oxidation? Coppery-brown, with a light tan head. Very sweet initial, and some rotten fruit off flavors / gets even sweeter in mid, and the rot is still there / some minor bitterness in final. Medium body. This is pretty bad. Something perhaps way off here.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TomDecapolis (4223) - Lawrence, Kansas, USA - FEB 28, 2013
Pours a hazy deep orange, kind of almost murky looking with a large foamy slightly off white head that left sticky lacing. Aroma of orange peel, dark fruits and caramel. Flavor of pine, orange peel, a bit yeasty, earthy...lots of earthy notes actually. Aggresive bitterness, piney needles. Overall a bit muddled. They don’t stamp a date on there that makes any sense, so I’m guessing this bottle could have sat on the shelf for a while.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 chinchill (586) - South Carolina, USA - DEC 3, 2012
12 oz served in a snifter. Poured a very hazy orange-amber with a small off-white head. Head has decent retention. Trace of sediment in bottom of bottle. Feels relatively creamy and full for a 8% ABV brew. Medium carbonation. Smells of resinous and citrusy hops, but a bit subtle compared to the bold taste, with hints of herbs and baked bread. Tastes of citrusy and herbal hops with traces of orange. Rather complex hop mix but not quite as hoppy as expected for an Amer. DIPA. Significant levels of sweet and caramel malt to balance the bitter hops. Only moderately bitter and hoppy after-taste. 8% ABV is largely hidden.
O - A well-crafted, flavorful DIPA; an excellent sipper that is more refreshing than challenging.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 PorterPounder (4612) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Savannah, Ga - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 12 oz bottle. Murky medium orange pour, sticky white head that leaves a nice coat of lacing. Aroma has a hint of spruce, some crystal malt. Flavor has some citrus bitter notes, some muddled homebrew crystal malt, a bit of nuttiness. A hint of vanilla in the back end. Mouthfeel has a nice thickness to it. Needs a bit of refinement.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 porkdiggity (91) - Ohio, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Delicious! Pours a nice amber, with just a touch of haze. Creamy head, nice lacing. As expected of an imperial IPA, lots of hops going on here, but not overbearing. Nicely bodied without being heavy, this is very drinkable. Easy finish, not dry at all.
