COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This full bodied Imperial IPA is brewed with massive amounts of premium varieties of hops such as Amarillo, Cascade, Simcoe and Crystal and paired with a rich blend of luscious Munich, caramel and 2-row pale malts. The result is a perfect balance of luxuriant malt and heady, exhilarating hop flavor. After primary fermentation is finished, we dry hop our Imperial IPA with copious quantities of the above mentioned hops. It is then cold conditioned for a few weeks. The result is an outstanding and unforgettable hop aroma. Starting with an original gravity of 20 Plato and finishing at 8.0% alcohol by volume, this Imperial India Pale is a hop tour de force!

bhensonb (8995) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 29, 2010
Bottle from the Co-op in Davis, CA. Pours dark copper with a foamy 3 finger yellowish/beige head that clings a lot.. There’s a lot of citrus in the aroma. Full bodied with foamy carbonation. The hop flavor is really bitter, but there’s a lot of malt to balance. Citrus and roasted malt. Well paired. Really good stuff.

hopscotch (8215) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 10, 2011
Bottle… Mostly clear amber/orange ale with mid-sized, rocky, off-white head that displays fantastic staying power. The complex aroma furnishes notes of candied nuts, pralines and sugar cookies with a sub-layer of pine and woody, earthy, musky hops. Medium to full-bodied and uber creamy with feather soft carbonation. Immaculately balanced and flavorful. Tons of intertwined malty and hoppy essences. Definitely throws a nod toward the bitter side of balance, but not enough to upset my apple cart. Finishes crisp, mildly bitter and refreshing. Well planned malt and hop bills. At 8% ABV, this is far too drinkable for its own good. Bottle courtesy of giarcsr!

CaptainCougar (7093) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - OCT 3, 2010
Bottle: Pours a transparent deep copper amber with a clingy-lacing froth of off-white head. Has a lightly sweet and resiny grapefruity hoppy nose with some herbal pine notes. Starts with pretty good fullness and a light caramel sweetness quickly overrun by an astringent bittering hoppiness that makes it almost difficult to drink. This could use a better balance of hop flavor and sweetness over IBUs.

Leighton (6956) - London, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2011

Very sweet flavor, lots of caramel, medium bitterness, some resinous pine and citrus. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweet with nice bitterness, big toffee, light warmth, toasty sugar. Nice beer.
