COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This full bodied Imperial IPA is brewed with massive amounts of premium varieties of hops such as Amarillo, Cascade, Simcoe and Crystal and paired with a rich blend of luscious Munich, caramel and 2-row pale malts. The result is a perfect balance of luxuriant malt and heady, exhilarating hop flavor. After primary fermentation is finished, we dry hop our Imperial IPA with copious quantities of the above mentioned hops. It is then cold conditioned for a few weeks. The result is an outstanding and unforgettable hop aroma. Starting with an original gravity of 20 Plato and finishing at 8.0% alcohol by volume, this Imperial India Pale is a hop tour de force!

Bottle. Dark straw color, cloudy, white head. Medium body, assertive fruity hop aroma, finish is short with sons flavor. Decent IPA, not overly strong.

Tap at Rattle’N’Hum, NYC, 20/05/13. Hazed golden amber with a thin off white head that retains well. Nose is light hops, sweaty socks, citrus, touch of spice, bitter orange. Taste comprises hops, caramel, pine, grapefruit, orange. Full end of medium body, fine carbonation, hop bitterness in the finish. Ok - but at the lower end of the spectrum for a DIPA!

Bottle: hazy amber pour with thin beige head. Aroma is hoppy with overripe citrus and toffee. Flavor is muddled with grapefruit, overripe apricot, caramel, bread, yeast and some oxidation. This beer might well be past its prime, there is no crisp citrus/pine hop character and it is dominated by bready caramel with a bitter bite, not horrible, just not great.

Bottle. Orange caramel and orange peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Sweet caramel malt and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. Nice balance. Pretty good.

Pours light orange, hazed...with a short tan head. A slightly musty cardboard aroma, must be the elaborate mix of hops or age.... Taste is caramel, dusty, dull fruit. Not thrilled with it.

Drought. Light amber color, spongy beige head, hops aroma, sweet hoppy taste, long finish. A typical IPA.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. The aroma is hoppy, resin, pine, some oxidization. The flavor is caramel, resin, pine, woody, oxidized. Not amazing, a basic IIPA.

12oz bottle thanks to Dallas! Pours a hazy deep copper color with medium creamy head retention. Aroma is syrupy malt (its not an old IPA), apricot, and caramel. Tastes is grapefruit, apricot, caramel, with some piny aftertaste. Pretty basic ipa

Bottle from Five Points Bottle Shop (Atlanta Highway) in Athens. Dark sugary aroma, some oxidation? Coppery-brown, with a light tan head. Very sweet initial, and some rotten fruit off flavors / gets even sweeter in mid, and the rot is still there / some minor bitterness in final. Medium body. This is pretty bad. Something perhaps way off here.

Pours a hazy deep orange, kind of almost murky looking with a large foamy slightly off white head that left sticky lacing. Aroma of orange peel, dark fruits and caramel. Flavor of pine, orange peel, a bit yeasty, earthy...lots of earthy notes actually. Aggresive bitterness, piney needles. Overall a bit muddled. They don’t stamp a date on there that makes any sense, so I’m guessing this bottle could have sat on the shelf for a while.
