Our Imperial Stout is an impressive, ebony black beer with gorgeous ruby hued highlights. Brewed with several kinds of rich caramel and roasted malts, this robust, full-bodied stout is packed with sensuous chocolate and coffee flavors. The complex roastiness of this brew is interwoven with rich toffee, subtle dark fruit and a hint of anise to round off the malt experience. The intense maltiness is balanced with a floral hop flavor and the aroma from Cascade and Golding hops. With an immense original gravity of 23 Plato, this opulent beer finishes at 10% alcohol by volume. Imperial Stout is a lavish blend of sumptuous flavors, it is silky smooth and deceptively strong.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours an opaque black with a tiny brown head. Lovely sweet, roasty nose, mushy dark dried fruit. Rich body, heavy roast, again dark dried fruit and a dryish, slightly bitter finish. Really a text book Imperial Stout - lovely. 090914

Excellent black pour w/ a big mocha head that leaves good lacing. The aroma is an exquisite chocolate & coffee blend. This blend doesnít shine through in the flavor however. The flavor is dominated by roasted bitterness w/ some subtle licorice notes. The mouthfeel is only average as the bitterness makes it a little difficult to get down. Itís a good beer that doesnít quite live up to some of the better imperials out there!

Mendocino Imperial Stout has a thin, tan head, a very dark, chocolate-brown appearance, and thin lacing left behind. The aroma is rich- deep, dark-roasted malt, a touch of anise, possible coffee, milk?, and some black cherry. The flavors are the same, with bitterness that is coming from the charred malt, rather than from hops. Mouthfeel is heavy and velvety, and Mendocino Imperial Stout finishes dessert like and sipable. Overall, this is the best beer Iíve had from Mendocino so far. RJT

Dark pour, lasting head. Smell is dark fruit nad toffee, english-inspired. Flavor is toffee, caramel, whiskey, chocolate, raisins, slight off taste. But otherwise this is a really great IS. and It is dirt fuckin cheap.

335 ml bottle. Black body with a fine, dense beige head. Nice, strong aroma of dark, roasted malt, mocha, coffee and some dry fruit. Flavor is sweet, dark roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee, some dry fruit and good balanced bitterness. Fine body with a long lasting aftertaste of sweet roasted malt. Rock solid well made, no nonsense traditional imperial stout.

Black, thick, creamy with a dense tan head, rich coffee flavours and a mocha aroma. Smooth for such a strong beer. A very big beer, strong and not for the faint of heart.

Bottle, 12oz. It pours a black body under a dense, tan head of moderate size. Toffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate and a touch of dried fruits in the aroma. The flavor is quite roasted and burnt, with tar and a hint of bonfire. Full-bodied, warming and softly carbonated. Lasting burnt and roasted finish with a meaty touch and some tar. Nothing impressive going on here, but itís sure drinkable. 131231
