COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Red Tail Ale - The Legend is our flagship brand. It is brewed in the traditional "old world" manner, using premium two-row malted barley, hops and our own special proprietary yeast strain. It is an amber ale with a rich complex refreshing flavor and a crisp dry finish. Red Tail Ale is "Bottle Conditioned." Like good wine, Red Tail Ale is a perfect complement to fine dining.

Bottle, 12oz. A creamy, beige head forms over a clear, dark golden body. Malty, lightly citrusy, piney aroma. Some nuttyness, but rather boring. The flavor has a plesant bitterness, but else it’s quite boring. Citrusy, grassy hops. Medium to full body, quite dry, with a nice carbonation level. Bitterness, grass and some fruityness in the finish. A pretty boring one, but not flawed in any way. 131231

Very nice beer. Good flavor and aroma. Also a good value. A California beer but has a brewery in Saratoga Springs, NY which is a nice plus for me.

I grew up near Ukiah and this beer has been my standard for an Amber Ale forever. Great cascade hops and just the right balance of caramel and toasted malts. One of my favorites.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. The label has no freshness date or abv%. Appearance: It has an orange amber body with good clarity and is capped off by with a tall loose foam head. This tall white head fades quickly and sets up a thin film covering that just hangs on. As it slides down the glass it makes some slick lacing. Smell: There is a mild sweet bready malt aroma with a nice backing of dry leafy/herbal hops. Taste/Palate: I get a nice candy and caramel sweetness with light toasty bready notes and just a hint of fruitiness. The hops come in late and finish with some mild bitterness for balance. Its medium bodied, easy drinking and nicely carbonated. Notes: There’s not too much to say, it’s a good basic Amber Ale. Its not mind blowing but it is still a decent, enjoyable beer.
