3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2 ounce sample at 99 Bottles beer tasting. Color is gold tending toward orange. The aroma is of yeast and spices. The flavor has a kick or bite to it and tastes somewhat like a pretzel. I like it but it tastes less like other ambers I have had; it is stonger-bodied, just staying away from harsh and overpowering. Mendocino representative Bill Hemmen claims that is due to the use of two-row malted barley rather than six-row malted barley. It has a drier finish than I am used to finding in an amber.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Low aroma, sort of flattish mouthfeel, decent average flavor thoughout. Sort of underflavored compared to a lot of IPA s I have had recently. Not hideous, but slightly below average and dissapointing, I kept waiting for more to happen and the ale just faded on me.

2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Fair, No aroma, watery thin, lighter than red more orange, little head clean finish. First one I have had in a long time. I remember this beer to be much better, may be a wierd bottle or may be my tastes are getting better. If anyone remebers this beer to be different years past drop me a note. Iíd love to here it.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This orangey/golden beer has a medium white head. The nose is perfumy with piney hops and very light, toasty malt. The palate is malty sweet with continued hoppiness and a short finish that echoes the tasty, but simplistic palate.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap @ Medocino (Old Saratoga Brewery) Pours red in color, with a foamy head. Very hoppy with a tough of citrius. Dry finish.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours amber with small white head. Not much aroma. Not much taste. Some malt and indistinct hop bitterness, and a little bit of caramel in there. Mediocre beer.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
I canít say I found this impressive; itís too hoppy for an amber ale, for one thing.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice, drinkable brew with a clean, dry finish and great hop aroma and flavor. Maltiness comes through but certainly hop-balanced. I really liked this one.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From bottle... poured clear amber with little head. Musty, grassy aroma. Enjoyable, hoppy flavor with slight grapefruit tang. Slight bite and crisp, dry finish. Iíd love this one when the weather is nice. This one overachieved, and Iíll get it again (had it as part of a $28 variety case). Good value.
