A great reddish color that just says "drink me". The malt flavors are very well done. The only thing I didn't like was that it was a bit on the sweet side.

Bottle from onlyfineale. Bottle Conditioned american amber ale. Certainly amber in colour. Slight yeast haze, head medium, lasted as long as it took to finish. Aroma of orange hops and yeast. Good rich mouthfeel, finish of hops but good malt character. I diidn’t find it sweet. Easy drinker.

I really love red tail. It has a very strong , interesting flavor. I love the hoppiness and aftertaste. If you can get one of these on tap, do yourself a favor and DO IT! I have been drinking this beer for years and would love one right now.

Amber colored, medium bodied, fairly strong. Low carbonation, very drinkable. A pretty good beer.

Pours honey amber w/ a medum, semi creamy froth that recedes to reveal a nice lace w/ loosely knit spatter. Aroma of briskly malted caramel. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers creates a creamy cotton texture. Flavors of malty yet crisp caramel forward w/ a hop profile just big enough to balance it out. The caramel is quite subdued, this creates a nice brew. The finish is bittered perfectly w/ citrus rind. Highly recommended.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 beermatrix (1497) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - AUG 2, 2003
Color is amber/copperish, somewhat clear with a thin off-white head that manages some stringy lace but drippy. Smell is nice roasty malts, a bit of caramel to it, moderate sweet malts up front, kinda appley fruitish with a clean, fresh, herbal-like hop in the backing. Taste is about the same, more sweet malts then most ambers, somewhat tangy and apple-like, the red variety, a touch of citrus as well and slightly roasty with a touch of caramel in its sweetness and just enough little hops floating around to create some light herbal/flowery mild bitterness of fresh green grass or tea leaves of some kind. Very subtle and sweetly with just a touch of lingering crisp dryness in the finish. Feel is close to medium bodied with some airyness to it but picks up a light chewyness midway and finishes lightly crisp and dry. Not a bad beer at all, lacks a bit of depth but its subtleties more then make up for it.
Would make a good candidate for a session brew.

Good flavor, wonderful taste. The aroma is slightly floral and it finishes smooth with a slight bite at the end. Light, coppery flavors.
