Chocolate malt aroma, when first popped then it clears to a candy like olfactory. Darker than your typical pale yellow lager, a little more brown and perhaps a little hazy. Has a small amount of gunk on the bottom of the bottle for a swirling ending pour. Initial taste gives no inkling of the alky content, You’d swear this is more than 6% but it really is only 4.5%! Woody and leathery, more personality than many octoberfests or hellers. Hints of honey perhaps. Finish has a bit of personality. Not your everyday lager fer sure.

Mild sweetness with soft caramel and bread in the nose. Bready with very soft hops on the palate. Soft finish.

decaturstevo (5015) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - NOV 12, 2007
An almost orange pour with a decent lace. A slightly sweet on the front that goes to a good bitter for a lager. A fruitiness that reminds me a tad of apple. Overall a good beer the color and flavor both surprise me.

Gregis (1281) - Shawnee, Kansas, USA - OCT 24, 2007
Pours a clear amber-orange with a loose, frothy, diminishing, beige head. The aroma is a sweet, clean, caramel maltiness and little more, but it’s actually fairly nice. Light-bodied and thin with solid carbonation and a clean, crisp finish. The flavor is a round, lightly bready malt and faint caramel with just enough hops to cut the finish off succinctly. A pretty nice lager. I would certainly prefer to be offered this beer at a party than any lager coming from BMC.

A dark gold/orange color, nice lacing, light beige foamy head. plenty of sweet malt with floral hops. Decent hop scent. Neither great nor bad. Good session brew.

(Bottle) Pours an amber color with a white head. Aroma of corn flakes and some biscuit. Sweet malty flavor as well. Nothing offensive, but the body isn’t particularly great. A decent lager.

ParkSloper (16) - New York, USA - SEP 12, 2007
Not much for the nose at first, although after 10-15 minutes at room temperature, a slight whiff of honey is detectable. Color is golden rather than yellow, with a sizable foamy head. Flavor, like aroma, seems empty at first, but a little breadiness and simple hop bitterness creep in at the end. Mouthfeel is just a touch fuller than a pilsner’s. Not bad as a thirst-quencher, but not a serious beer.

Pousr translucent orange with a medium tan head that does not last very long and has no lacing. Nose is faint malt, very faint hops, and soap. Flavor of sour soda pop. Very thin and watery mouthfeel.

Caramel malt on the nose, with hints of roasty aromas, with some hop spice in there. Pours amber with a thin white head, that doesn’t last long. Malty, bread and cereal flavors, sweet, with a barely detectable hop presence. Would be a good session lager.
