2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark orange pour, no head. Aromas of pumpkin spice and cocoa. No real flavor nailed down on the palate. Light body, slightly pumpkin taste that turns into tart dry cocoa nibs, but you have to let the beer warm up to even get that note.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle:   This one also reminds me a bit of old Chicken in a Biscuit like crackers.   Spices turned a bit south, not much spiciness.   More of a stale Amber Ale.   Fairly muted, quick finish.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Finishes very... light.   Was hoping this held up over time, but nope.   Didn’t go bad, just faded.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This pours a reddish orange color with only a slight head and some floaties mixed in the beer. The aroma is mild with pumpkin, allspice, cinnamon, and other spices. The texture is bold and smooth with good pumpkin flavor that it’s too thin or watery like other pumpkin beers. A delicious, sold seasonal beer just too bad I found this past the prime pumpkin beer drinking season.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Funny how all of the extra shit breweries seem to make good oddball beers. This is honestly the best thing they make and its a crap style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Type: 12-oz. bottle
Glass: Firestone restaurant pint glass
From: BevMo in Mission Valley (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $14.99 for a BevMo variety 8-pack (w/ BevMo card)
Purchased: Dec. 31, 2013
Consumed: Jan. 3, 2014
Poured an amber orange color with three fingers of khaki white head that shrunk pretty quickly. A decent amount of bubbles coming up from the bottom. Very good layered foamy lacing along the sides of the glass on the way down. Great and thick retention all the way down.
Smelled pumpkin seeds, peppery spices, cocoa, nutmeg, cinnamon, chocolate and faint peppermint.
Tasted a bit better than the smell. First thing I noticed was cocoa, chocolate and fudge chips. Also pumpkin, nutmeg, caramel, toffee pumpkin rind and faint cinnamon. Maybe even some chili peppers in there late?
Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, spicy finish.
The most different kind of pumpkin beer I’ve ever had. A couple of my ratings could have gone either way, but I’d try it again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. Pours a shiny red with some orange highlights. Head is a thin white layer of tiny bubbles in different densities. Aroma is lots of pumpkin pie spice with some little amounts of pumpkin. Lighter body, but not too light for the 5% alcohol. Pretty clean. It’s certainly not going to win any awards in my book, but it is easy to drink.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours copper with a beige head. Strong nutmeg aroma. Med body or close. Flavor is nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon. Maybe a touch of chocolate. Or not. The spice is the game. Pretty decent version.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting.
Body is medium to dark amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, cocoa powder), with notes of nutmeg/allspice/cinnamon, pumpkin/squash, chile pepper.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Not too bad...considerable pumpkin aroma, which is not terribly common with these kinds of beers; usually the nutmeggy spices overwhelm everything else. Even some chile pepper-like aroma, oddly enough, although mild. Ok balance, but a little bland and watery. Decent for this sorta thing.

Bottle to glass shaker. pours a ruby / dark orange color with a sparse yellowish head. Obvious aroma of spiced pumpkin. Good mouthfeel, creamy with lots of malt flavors, and the pumpkin overtone. Good rendition.

Dark auburn with a thin lasting head. Warm autumn spice aroma. Taste has dark chocolate, cinnamon and cloves. Pumpkin is more subdued for a pumpkin beer. Medium bodied.
