drewbeerme (1664), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 8, 2008 12oz bottle. pours chestnut with white clumpy head. toffee malt aroma with some green floral hop notes. flavors are sweet toasted malts, a bit caramelized, touch of some noble hop notes flowery and leathery hops. slightly metalic finish. not bad at all and probably much better straight from the source. unclemattie (1492), Georgia, USA Jun 29, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours clear, golden/amber color. Rocky eggshell colored head. Creamy texture. Sweet rich malt. Flavors of honey and toffee. Finishes with one of the greatest hop flavors I’ve had all day. Spicy and calmingly bitter. Prost nick76 (1935), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 24, 2008 The aroma is very malty with cereal grains, caramel, and grassy hops. The appearance is amber with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma but very bitter. The palate is typical for the style. Overall I like it but it’s astringently bitter with a soapy quality. Palidor19 (1165), Brandon, Florida, USA Jun 24, 2008 gives a nice aroma with a deep caramel yet not too heavy flavor. Taste feels a bit astrigent in the after taste. it has some big flaws but is still very drinkable. Beerded_one (1551), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 24, 2008 Bottle.
