Slight metallic notes are also present. Round, bready body with caramels and a hint of raisin, leafy hops, and light alcohol. Average beer that meets expectations in a difficult-to-master style.

Has a good hop finish, lightly bitter. Very robust and malt-centric. 7% ABV is a big plus. Still a good balance. Very tasty and interesting, and I like it a lot better than I thought I would. Another great value from Mendocino. Excellent.

Jun 9, 2008 Pours a hazy dark orange/copper color with small amount of bubbly white head. Aroma is nice sweet malts and citrus fruits. Flavor is very bitter and dry, lots of hops, slight alcohol burn. Reminds me more of a bad ipa than a bock.

Jun 7, 2008 Very clear copper body with a small white head. Heavy caramel aroma with light toastiness. Heavy caramel and toasty flavor with light molassas and a sticky bready finish. Almost a doppelbock. Medium full body with moderate carbonation and a sweet syrupy finish.
