After having a bad run in with some serious DMS a few weeks ago, now if there’s even a low level of the stuff it seems like it’s packed full of it. This was the case here with this beer, although the levels were a bit more manageable. A vegetative nose with some caramel sweetness as the DMS dissipates. The beer is amber in color with a nice creamy one-finger thick head. Flavors had a strange earthy/grassy character that really didn’t sit well with what I like. Not something I’d likely revist.

12oz bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a generally clear dark amber color with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet with notes of malt, ripe fresh fruit, honey, caramel, some slight notes of chocolate. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, honey, toffee, and candy sugar. Some hints of ripe fresh fruit and bread. Generally medium body with a sweet and malty finish. Better than I expected.

Initially sweet with a hop presence. Not too complex but has nice flavor. Smooth and has a bit of an alcohol punch. Some caramel and bready notes. Overall pretty good.

Clear copper color with a 1 cm thick light tan head. Aroma of wet grain, slight fruitiness. Thinnish body, malty/grainy taste, slightly herbal and sweet on the back end. Kinda plain, but nothing offensive here.

A clear amber color with a very small and short lived head that ends in an uneven layer. Aroma is fruit and sweet spice. Taste is quite bitter with a big hop profile that is somehow subtle. It is also fruity, floral, and spicy.

Pours a nice copper color with a thin white head. Aroma is malty, citrusy, with just a hint of honey. Taste is malty smooth with some nice subtle hops. The smooth maltiness and the honey citrus make this very easy to drink and will be nice as the weather warms up.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Big sweet and malty taste and you can taste the grain in a way. Better than I remember from last year.
