beerbomb (172), New Jersey, USA May 6, 2007 Updated: Nov 7, 2007One of the most opaque pours I’ve seen from a wheat beer...light yellow with small creamy head. Aroma is spicy, doughy yeast and wheat with some acidic lemon poking through. Flavor is a tad light but has strong spicy wheat and yeast with a citric lemon twinge. For my money, this is a very solid drinkable wit.
re-rate-this is really pretty good stuff. very spicy and citrusy but works well-doesnt have a fake flavor like some others. full musty yeasty wheaty prescence-smooth creamy mouthfeel and palate
**this beer is extremely underrated - found it for 18.99/case and does not get old - very enjoyable wheat beer with no cloying characteristics - hope they make it next year! jonwayne4883 (401), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA May 5, 2007 decent attempt at a white ale, some fruit flavor and evident malts. decent amount of head, seemed heavily carbonated. sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 2, 2007 12oz bottle. Hazy and sedimented. Cloudy and of a thick golden hue. Clumpy white head. Musty citrus nose. Not the most appealing. Fruity vanilla notes. Medium bodied with livley esters and bright orange notes. Tastes better than it smells. Astringent zesty orange notes. Grainy flavor. Lingering citrus and cloudy yeastiness. Big effervescence. Cloying yeast. Nothing special and nothing particular. Crafty07 (391), Florence, Kentucky, USA Apr 17, 2007 Delcious unfiltered wheat. Right mixture of citrus sweetness and tartness. I liked the sediment distrubed during the pour. A tasty summer beer that deserves a higher rating than 44! Ughsmash (3981), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Mar 27, 2007 Bottled. Poured a slightly hazy pale golden with a dusting of white head. Aroma was heavy on sweet orange rind upfront with notes of apple and wheat. Flavor picked up lots of orange and lemon with higher prickly wheat and citrus tartness... sweet on the palate and it dried out on the back end with a refreshing finish.. some peppery spices there too. Good lawnmower-type brew. doubelknv3 (559), Illinois, USA Mar 1, 2007 Cloudy golden colour with orange citrus aroma. Citrus / sweet wheat-lemon flavour. Watery / smooth to the palate. CigarsLoveBeer (153), Illinois, USA Mar 1, 2007 Bottle: Very, very pale body with floaties and white head that didn’t feel like sticking around. Very tart aroma, yeast, cream, lemon, and apple juice. In te mouth this is very tangy with apple juice and lemon being the dominating flavors. Some spice creeps in and mixes a little with the tangy flavors before both die right as I swallowed leaving me with a dead, tartness, and a slight lingering spicyness. This didn’t hold up to well I guess... duh... Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Feb 26, 2007 An hazy yellowish ale with a thick creamy white head. Aroma of cloves, lemon, orange and sulfur. In mouth, wheat malt with lemon juice and peppery hops...I had one of my BYO beers taste like this. Amateurish. $3.98 for a 6-pack, BOTW, OCt. 2006, same batch as Probstk and Gonzo.
