| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 30, 2007 Updated: Jun 10, 2007Bottle; typical murky, watered-down lemonade look with a small head. Aroma is estery wheat and yeast, juicy fruit gum, and some subtle spices. Thank God the taste is the same! Body is a nice light-medium. This is a great Belgian Wit; not too much of the dry, tart citrus flavor or watered-down sweetness that makes me hate most American wheats. NIce carbonation tingle on the front and smooth afterwards. Excellent wit that tastes like a good, fresh draft Hoegaarden. Bottled Hoegaarden only wishes it could be this good when shipped across the Atlantic! This one and the winter stout seasonal are by far the best Mendocino brews I have sampled, and the only ones I would purchase again. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 6, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours cloudy golden with an average white head. Aroma of citrus, spices, and grain. The flavor is citrus, lemons, spices, with a mild trace of hoppy bitterness in the finish. Light bodied, ok i guess. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 21, 2006 12 oz. bottle, $1.15 from the loose bottle rack at <a href=http://ratebeer.com/Place/illinois/downers-gr Sam’s Wines, Downers Grove. Kind of a generic looking label, eh. Pours standard beer yellow, tall weizen glass kicks up a bit of yellowish foam. Basic slightly spritzy wheat beer smell. Taste is a decent enough American wheat, but it’s not easy to find any Belgian character or spice to it. Well, no, I do have a bit of bubblegum and orange peel as I go further down the glass. Pleasant, but not quite what it aspires to be. RAYBOY01 (1873), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Nice light wheat flavor, very refreshing, with lemon and orange peels, clove and coriander. I’d happily knock one back on a hot summer day. lithy (1860), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 4, 2008 A very so so wit. I love this style but there is something that set this beer apart from all the other wits I’ve ever had. The aroma of HOT DOGS. Yes, hot dogs. Pour was a nice light cloudy gold with a 2 finger white head. Taste was frankfurter-y with a hint of sourness and a dry lemony aftertaste. The hot dogs were too much to overcome. Blah.
