COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800’s to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

From the bottle to a tulip. Pours hazy copper with white head. Aroma is pine, citrus zest(but minimal), and hints of candy sugar. Taste is well balanced. It is certainly bitter, but it doesn’t completely cancel out the malt giving it a great character. Seems like it has average carbonation and sticks to your tongue for quite a bit. Overall, good. I like it.

650ml brown bottle. Gold colour with a bit of haze, large white head that is creamy and lots of sticky lacing. Light nose, getting some caramel hints, light oranges. Taste - grains, light caramel and orange peels. Faint late bitterness, light fruity notes, some orange zest, some grains in the aftertaste and light hop notes. The 7% never shows up, pretty sessionable for it’s strength, overall just feels a bit average, lacks intensity in the hops dept. Was hoping for a bit more...

From bottle to pint at Bearfoot Tavern (Macon, Jawja). This beer is proof that you can?t always go by reviews. It ain?t great but its worth a try once or twice.

Bottle 12 oz, total wine & more. Pours clear darker amber with a small creamy/bubbly off white head leaving lacing. Aroma is malty, sweet, bisquity, caramel, citric and soem tropical fruits. Flavor is a bit odd, not in balance. Bitter, watery, sweet, caramel, bready and fruity. Finish with harsh longlived bitterness.

golden with small head. a decent looking beer, but that’s all i can say that’s nice. this is a godawful beer. it somehow manages to be extremely bitter with no other flavor whatsoever. i’d rather wash my mouth out with soap than drink this one. drain pour.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark orange with a small, off-white head. The aroma is strong pine and floral hops, with notes of coriander, vanilla, and caramel. The flavor is sweet, with a mild hop bitterness. The palate is thin, syrupy, and a little acidic. The carbonation is minimal. The aftertaste is short and malty. Overall, this a good, drinkable beer, but it lacks the hop profile of a great IPA.

not bad since I don’t like ipa’s; glass to bottle aroma was slight pine and mustiness. Taste was slightly sweet up front with hops at back of throughout - drinkable but not enjoyable

Bottle @ home. Gusher though it doesn’t smell of an infection. Hazy, yellow orange appearance with a huge cream colored head. Sweet floral hoppy, honey, potpourri aroma. Somewhat bready, lightly toasty, a touch fruity, a little tangy, floral flavor. I really didn’t like this one.

Mendocino White Hawk Original IPA has a medium, creamy and cream-colored head, and a hazy, yellow-orange appearance, with decent lacing. The aroma is of orange peel, water, some barley malt, and a bit of hop sting. Taste is of dank citrus, slightly turned fruit, mustiness, malt, bread, and there is a subdued hop bitterness with this. Mouthfeel is medium, and White Hawk IPA finishes semi-dry and ragged. Overall, this is unrefined, yet solidly good. RJT
