COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800’s to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Mendocino White Hawk Original IPA has a medium, creamy and cream-colored head, and a hazy, yellow-orange appearance, with decent lacing. The aroma is of orange peel, water, some barley malt, and a bit of hop sting. Taste is of dank citrus, slightly turned fruit, mustiness, malt, bread, and there is a subdued hop bitterness with this. Mouthfeel is medium, and White Hawk IPA finishes semi-dry and ragged. Overall, this is unrefined, yet solidly good. RJT

Hazy gold/orange colored beer with a slightly off-white head. Aromas of tropical fruit, and kitty litter funk. Taste is of floral hops mixed with spruce, and fresh cut grass. Ends on a semi-sweet hop/fruit note, maybe some mango? Not over hopped like other IPAs out there, and the malts balance the hops perfectly. Very tasty.

Pours a golden color with a decent head and good lacing. S: Aroma of pine with some caramel and bit of fruit sweetness mixed in. T: taste follows the aroma with a nice blend of the hops and malt sweetness. Nice bitterness and a dry finish. F: Fairly medium body and smooth. Nice balanced. O: Enjoyable beer, not overly hopped like some IPA’s. Worth a try.

Biggish deep offwhite head. Hazy amber body with light carbonation. Deep caramelly malty resiny aroma with perfumy peppermint notes. Clean and fresh. Dry-sweet nutty caramelly taste with resiny mint notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dry nutty wooden caramelly aftertaste with resiny citric tropical fruit notes. Really nice. Classic US IPA, clean fresh, and well executed. (0.355l bottle, from a wine shop by the Mid-Levels Escalator, Hong Kong.)

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours amber with a light beige head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops plus a good amount of caramel malts. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A decent IPA.

Pours a copper color with small white head. Aroma of piney and citrus hops. Taste starts off sweet followed by a piny bitterness. Light bodied for an IPA. Easy drinkability.

12oz bottle - pours clear caramel with rich off-white head and spotty lacing. Nose is citrus and caramel malts. Flavor is grapefruit and quite hoppy. Taste is bitter but sweet to the lips. Medium body with sticky texture. Strong hoppy finish and long aftertaste which ends dry. I’m starting to like this brewer a lot!!!

Beautiful amber color. Nutty floral smell. Hoppy, bitter, with a caramel sweetness. Pleasant overall. 7% alcohol is nice, I wouldn’t mind even more alcohol in this beer.

Pours a golden color with a small white head. Aroma is subdued, but can smell pine, citrus, and some floral notes. Taste caramel along with mild citrus and pine hoppy bitterness. Medium to light bodied.
