COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800’s to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2006 Light clear orange with a good sized white head, rich pine aroma, deep hard-hitting bitterness that stays around long after the sip is gone. This is surprising as at first the beer doesn’t taste very bitter.

Pours a golden yellow color with a very fluffy head. The aroma is starkly floral. Crisp hop flavor with a nice citric twang. Enough sweet malts to keep this honest. This beer is not incredible, mind you. But it is a nice hoppy brew.

other just ok IPA, hoppy, and somewhat medium, compared to others, not much can be said for this bland swill

Very well balanced. Quite complex in both aroma and flavor. The bitterness and the sweetness interact nicely. Still quite powerful. Well as a late night brew.

On tap at the Hopland Brewing Co. It had a golden color with a moderate hoppy flavor.

Hopey flavor and aroma as expected. Nothing stands out to seperate its self from the field. Pine is the most noticable flavour. Compared to Stone, this is a disappointment.

Tastes musty. Definately not Stone. It's one of those muddy non-descript beers. Very average.

Clody orange in colour and mine had no head. Aroma is sweet honey with pine needles. Flavours are mild pine and smooth rather than overly bitter. Spicy and decent but I was disappointed.

Very citrusy hops with a grassy finish - a bit linear, but tasty regardless. The best IPAs - regardless of IBU - tend to have at least enough malt to compensate a bit for the hop flowers, but this was missing it for sure.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2005 Something about ipas just make them smell real nice. this is hoppy beer, but it doesn’t seem to have much else to distinguish it - leaves a tingle on the tongue.
