3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Definitely high bitterness here. Thin to my palate, dry (as has been said) - a bit unusual in a way I can't quite put a finger on. Malty (not sweet) - this comes in a few minutes after the pour. Has a bit of rotting vegetable aroma. Gave me a shiver (could be the weather).

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Two bottles. One seemed as though it was not happy - flocculation? Did I say that right? Do I care? Yes and no. The second was crisp and good, though a bit rough in the bitterness. I much prefer some of their other beers. I do appreciate the gift (I know that a certain someon will read this)

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Clear copper. Head odd-looking, chunky and a weird ashy gray. Nose is bitter, no real fruit or floral character. Same bitterness continues in the flavor, harsh without any corresponding hoppy bite or balancing malts. Not good.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Copper colored with a big beige head. Aroma of malt and piney hops. Flavor is malty at the start, with a very long and bitter finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 3, 2004 Bottle from the Swan and Rushes, Leicester. Iridescent orange colour - hardly any head, but some lacing. Warm, fruity aroma: peach and raspberry. Soft on the intake, rising to a sharp IPA hop finish, like the white cliffs of Dover. A sharpish finish, lingering with pale IPA quality in the classic US style. Quite a rich mouthfeel, prickly all round grapefruit flavour - unrelenting. Cracking stuff!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Gorgeous murky amber color. Thick, white head with plenty of belgian lace. Nice hoppy aroma. Even nicer hoppy flavor. Hoppy flavor sticks to your tongue in aftertaste, just the way I like it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. A slightly hazy amber color, with a nice hop aroma - if somewhat subdued for an IPA. Big pure white head that disapates quickly. The flavor is pine tar and citrus with a little malt to back it up. There's a little grassiness to the flavor, but otherwise it's not bad. Finishes dry, easy to drink.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I was presently surprised by this IPA I must admit. I had read some of the reviews before I had tried this one and I don't really understand why it rates so low? Mild grass hop and pine aroma that isn't as strong as I would like but pleasant nonetheless. Pours out copper orange red with a medium head and noticeable lacing. Flavor was strong bitter at first than trailing off to a dry finish. Fairly well balanced and very easy to drink. A very good session beer. I think it deserves a higher rating that it gets by most, but that?s just my opinion. Try it, I don?t think it will disappoint.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Faint coppery-orange colour, citrusy and piney on the nose. Thin lacing. This IPA has a nice hop bite with some subtle malt undertones. The mixture of Cascades and Fuggles make for an interesting blend, effectively combining the flavours of the American and British stlye IPAs. Not the best in its class, but a pleasant surprise nonetheless.
