White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800’s to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Beautiful amber color. Nutty floral smell. Hoppy, bitter, with a caramel sweetness. Pleasant overall. 7% alcohol is nice, I wouldn’t mind even more alcohol in this beer.

Resembles more to the original English IPA’s than to the more popular brews that have flooded the market recently. Malty and bitter, good one!

330ml bottle served in a pint glass. Enjoyed @ Hong Kong Brew House. Pours a slightly cloudy orange color forming a medium white head with low retention forming lots of thin soapy lacings in the glass. Nose is grassy and fruity. Strong fruity notes: mango and grapefruit, mainly. Resin, zest and pine notes. Taste follows the nose: slightly sweet upfront. Sweet pale and caramel malts. Resin, grapefruit, grass, pine, earth. Medium bitterness (was expecting more). Light body. Average carbonation. Caramel, grapefruit and grass in the aftertaste. Not very persistent. Not bad brew.

So much orange! The orange flavor and aroma overpower this Ipa. It isn’t bad, there is an interesting bitterness at the end. But too much citrus for me liking.

Looks: Dark gold/ light amber. Light average head. Rich overripe fruit and malty.Sweet caramel. Same in taste heavy ripe fruit and malty caramel. Yeast. Mineral. Rich. Pretty sweet but not quite too much. Like the abv. Pretty malty fruity overall. But a pretty decent IPA. Full body.

22 oz bottle. (Food Pantry) Honolulu, HI.
Hazy golden color with a small off-white head. Sweet dark fruity hops, mild sugary sweetness, prunes, some unfreshness and maltiness in the aroma. The flavor is harsh herbal hops, moderate bitterness, unfreshness and dryish maltiness.
