3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 FunkyBrewster (1515) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 8, 201012 oz bottle. Pours a very light brown amber with a small white head. Aroma is lightly citric, pine forward with a herbal characteristics. A high level of biscuity malts come out as well. Flavor is the same type of grassy pine hops, yet are subdued as the sweet caramel malts creep through. A bit of bread grain in the finish which is mildly bitter. Medium body and a sharp carbonation. For a hop head, this is a so so IPA but its a nice IPA for those who may not like to eat hops out of the bottle.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 Cantabrian (410) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 16, 2013
Nah, not any good. Far behind some proper West Coast IPAs. This is very one-dimensional, just bitter, nothing else to balance. Where’s the floralness or the fruitiness? Nowhere to find it. I find it less of any copy, but more of an APA. And the figure on the label is Gyr Falcon, not a White Hawk.

Yah, back to that whole copying the old English style of anything...classic, but just not packing the flavor as much as it could...
