White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800’s to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Golden color with a thick white head disolving to a sheet of lace. Nose is surprisingly malty with some biscuit and floral undertones. Flavor is sweet and honeyd at first with the hops coming through and then donminating the flavour. Finish is citrus with a touch of malt. This beer has a nice balance between malt and hops with clean and complex flavours. Certainly not as hop heavy as most California IPAs.

Not my favorite style but this is a good example of the style. It is not "nuclear" with the hops but still true to type

Light gold, nice head, true to style. Very nice grapefruit aroma. Bitter hop flavors dominate, with grapefruit again present. Just a bit of a bite, and not quite enough malt to balance. Enjoyable, but simple.

Nice thick, white head which lasts for a while. Great lacing with ok carbonation. Nice bold hops aroma, with a touch of malt, yeast and honey. Color is a cloudy pale gold. Flavor has a nice bite to it but is somewhat grainy and one dimensional. Slight alcohol warming with a nice bitter finish and lingering aftertaste. A decent IPA but lacks some boldness and flavor in the middle.

Bright amber appearance. Malty, cereal grain aroma. Lacked the intense hop flavor of the bigger American IPA's, but pleasant nonetheless. Lingering, slightly bitter finish.

Bottled. Misty golden colour with medium to large, creamy smooth white head. No doubt about the hops on this one. Big and brutish hops leap forward and declare the beer as an IPA (in the new world definition of IPA). Relentless hops the blow away any other flavours that might be hiding in there somewhere. Big bitter finish.

This is a nice golden colored IPA that carries a creamy white head that laces the glass and can hang around awhile too. The aroma is of lightly toasted caramel, citrus and is clean and refreshing. The flavor comes off as bitter with some malt sweetness underneath. Good dry finish. Very drinkable IPA.

Slight citrus in the flavor. Don't recognize the pine but I can taste a hint of caramel, although not in every sip. A medium orange in color with cloudiness. A decent IPA.

Nice copper color with thick head. Mellow hop aroma with an apparent carmel malt presence. It has a very manageable hop flavor with hints o fgrapefruit. Also displays a smooth carmel malt flavor that sits on the toung befor the citric hop flavor takes over.

very light fruity hop aroma, golden with a snow white head, dry super bitter citrusy hops and a tad rubbery
