COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800’s to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Clear copper. Head odd-looking, chunky and a weird ashy gray. Nose is bitter, no real fruit or floral character. Same bitterness continues in the flavor, harsh without any corresponding hoppy bite or balancing malts. Not good.

Pours a slightly hazy straw color. Decent head with some lasting power but no lacing. Aroma is almost non-existant but has some sweetness. It tastes like an old lady’s perfume. Flowery. And the maltiness is very similar to a 99 cent malt liquor. This is pretty bad.

Admittedly I don’t prefer the style so my rating is biased. Did not enjoy at all. Dry, crisp and just dusts the mouth on the finish. You’ll need a good brew to quench your thirst. Not overly hoppy and alcohol taste is prevalent. To be fair, I will say that colleagues who lean toward more hops in their tastes and are IPA’ers did indeed like this.

this is a bitter, bitter beer with a long drawn out bitter after taste. This is should be classifed as an esb not a ipa. would never buy this again - the real question is what do i do with the other five

Bottle. A mild IPA. Not as good as most IPAs. A gold to brown body that was mild. A light white head, with faint hop aromas, needs to step up the hops.

A pretty good IPA. No outstanding qualities. A easy afternoon drinking beer.

Meh. There is not a lot going on here, besides a weird fizzyness and a decent texture. Flavor disappears almost completely when served slightly warmer than refrigerator temp, and the hops aren’t showcased like they should be. Pass.

Bottle:Cloudy gold color with a white head. Spoiled hop aroma with pepper, cardboard and plastic. The taste is disgusting. Metallic bitter flavor - hair spray and other nastiness. This is by far the worst IPA I have ever encountered.
