2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Color was pitch black. Surprising a small amount of head, maybe ˝ inches. Light lacing that dissipated very quickly. Light film on sides.
Smelled of dark coffee and dark chocolate malts. This was the best part of the beer.
Tasted of dark and smoky malts. Also some dark chocolate flavor in there as well. Tasted pretty fake to me.
Full body. Average carbonation. Smooth feel.
It was just a bit too fake for me, but I’ll take the smoothness.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Black in color, moderate to thin spritzy beige head, spotty lacing.   Roasted malts, oatmeal,
burnt molasses on the nose.   Soft roasty malts, semi-sweet... make that fairly sweet.   Roasty, with a nice
smooth malt background.   Not too big, easy to drink.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Falls off
pretty quickly, but at least this one starts out pretty flavorful.   Not really any flaws that I see.
Slightly above average, and worthy of a try in my book.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle… Pours clear and practically black with a mid-sized, fluffy, cappuccino head. The nose is grainy with toasted notes – not as much chocolate or coffee character as expected. Medium to full-bodied with tingly carbonation. The flavor is excellently balanced with some roastiness, but is mainly bland. Crisp, pretty clean finish. Flawless, but boring for the style.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Chalky charred oak, medium roast coffee nose. Black, thin beige head. Milk chocolate flavor, raisin hints, coffee on the back end. Won’t blow you away, but a real pleasure to drink.

Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 12 oz bottle. Deep, rich dark black inky pour with a decently thick khaki-colored head. Aroma has some pipe tobacco, some day old coffee and a bit of fresh black earth. Bold stout flavor with some nice bakers unsweetened chocolate, some french roast coffee, a bit of fresh black dirt. Mouthfeel is nice and dry and chalky. Excellent stout.
