Aromas of chocolate and smoke. Looks opaque black except under intense light where it shows a beautiful ruby tinge. Surprisingly thin dark tan head for an oatmeal stout. Surprisingly thin body too. Lots of dark, milk and bittersweet chocolate though along with roasted smokiness. A bit of a coffee character too. Leaves chocolate in the aftertaste and bitterness on the tongue. Not what I’m used to in oatmeal stouts. Tried it with a Reese’s cup and... not good. Too much charred smoke flavor. However, overall a decent beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black, with an average, short lived, chocolate milk colored head. Aroma of molasses, chocolate, raisins, and oatmeal. Taste is mostly molasses and raisin; sweet, with a mild coffee-like bitterness. Medium bodied, syrupy, smooth, and ever so slightly dry. Decent, but kind of off balance and muddy.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours opaque black with small light brown head that dissapates quickly. Little lacing, medium/thick body, silky texture, medium/low carbonation, and wonderful roast aroma. Taste is roasted malt, some chocolate, some lactose, hint of coffee, and light bitter finish. Better than I expected.

12oz bottle - pours opaque black with rich beige head and trace lacing. Nose is toasted malts and caramel. Flavor adds coffee/chocolate and toffee. Taste is sweet like toffee. I love this brewery more and more with very new beer I try. If it came to it, I would have this beer for breakfast.

Good type of beer for a cool spring evening. There is oatmeal permeating this beer obviously but the supporting dark roast and creamy finish complements the main notes well. Just a satisfying beer, makes me want to try more from this brewer.

Very good stout. Drank in KS. Very chocalatey. Not as creamy as I would expect based off of the description hyping up the amount of oats used.

All dark with a small mocha head and moderate lacing. Roasted malt and semi-sweet chocolate aroma. Woodsy flavors; modest sweetness with a bit more carbonation that a typical stout. Body could have benefitted with a little more depth. Waited in vain for more hops to show up in the aftertaste. Long lasting finish.
