radiomgb (1711), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Oct 10, 2005 On tap at the Merchant Ale House. Murky orange-brown in colour, very thin white head, no lace. The aroma was of sweaty gym socks, ginger, slightly sweet. The flavour was of ginger mainly but there was some malt and sugary sweetness. Dry mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes dry, malty, lingering. jerc (3056), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 16, 2005 Orangey amber body, no head. Sweet ginger - chinese food like reminders. Vaguely fruity flavour, pleasant moderate ginger is oddly sweet. Reminds me a bit of carrot cake for some reason. Average palate bordering on thin. Interesting beer, but doesn’t really do much for me. Worth trying though. IPFreely (1470), Niagara Falls, New York, USA Aug 15, 2005 Amber color, thin ring of off white head. Lighter aroma, ginger is definitely in there and as radiomgb noted "sweaty gym socks." Flavor is relatively mild, some malt, ginger and it kind of falls flat. Pretty boring beer. joey_capps (1453), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Aug 14, 2005 Amber w/ ring of pale tan foam. Mild aroma of ginger w/ light peppery notes. Light, watery feel. Surprisingly bland flavour of candy-ish malt & ginger. A mild spicy, pepper-like burn develops in the finish. tupalev (2267), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 1, 2005 On tap, at the brewpub in St. Catharines. Light brown pour, small white head. Nice ginger aroma. All ginger taste, balanced ok with some light malt, but does come out a bit watery. I found it pretty refreshing, but certainly the less of the 3 beers I tried, as it was pretty one-dimensional.
