A golden amber with an off-white head. This beer tastes like a less mature version of Dogfish’s Punkin. There is likewise very little nutmeg, but very clearly got its flavors from the pumpkin itself. The aftertaste is a bit off though.

this was an absolute delight, you could smell the swirl of roasted pumpkin and nutmeg and even a hint of cinnamon. Had a clear pumpkin tasted with a little spice, clear nutmeg notes and the cinnamon came through a bit at the end. It was a very clear golden in appearance, great pumpkin ale!

Without doubt the best pumpkin ale I have had. Mild aroma of pumpkin with sweetness. Clear orange colour. Taste has a fantastic balance of pumpkin and nutmeg, tastes like a pumpkin pie in a glass, goes down smooth and clean. Left me raving.

Pours clear and dark amber with a slight foamy head. Aroma of pumpkin and nutmeg is slight and carries over to a slight aftertaste and a good tasting ale.

Tap at the ale house, pours a hazy yellow. smell is faint, similar to the of other merch beers, prob due to the yeast flavouring, the taste is light pumpkin with a light pumpkin spicing, overall it was quite enjoyable

Note - with about 3 years between rates I’m not sure if this is a new pumpkin seasonal, or a reworked version of the old one. Seemed a lot better than the old ratings though, so maybe they’ve learned something in three years. On tap at the Merchant Ale House. Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Pumpkin flesh, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a bit of clove. Light malt, a bit more spice, and a touch of grain at the back end. Finishes with some more light spice, and a bit more dry grain.

Mixed spice aroma with yeast? Deep amber, small white head. Faint taste of pumpkin, light bodied, sweet, average.

Cask at Volo Cask Day 2006. Pours a cloudy orange with a small creamy white head. Aroma of Xmas spices, some light sourness and pumpkin. Flavour of slightly sour fruit, pumpkin, spices, some light malt and some hops in the finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good for what it is.

On cask at Volo Cask Days, 2006. Hazy orange, small white head. Decent pumpkin spice aroma. Malt and pumpkin spice in taste with a nice bitter finish. Very quaffable, if not a little muted in flavour. Nice job Merchant, thanks for sharing your stuff in T.O!

Draught. Orange-copper body with a creamy white head. Interesting aroma of pumpkin, oranges, bread, and sugar. Sweet pumpkin flavour, ginger bread, and metal. A somewhat interesting profile but it still has to work within the limitations of a relatively boring/weird style.
