Draught @ CBC2013. Pours hazy dark chestnut with a small bubbly and fizzy mocha head that quickly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with caramel, alcohol, toffee, roasted hazelnuts, vanilla fudge, caramelized almonds, charred wood, coconut milk and butterscotch hard candy. Taste is sweet and malty with graham crackers, caramel, alcohol, toffee, vanilla fudge, assorted roasted nuts, burnt sugar, charred wood and charred wood. Mouthfeel is round, tiny sticky, boozy and full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with caramel, roasted nuts, sweet bread, biscuits, vanilla fudge, lemon zest, alcohol and coconut milk. Drinks way very well for the above. Quite tasty...

Draft @ DeMolen. Black with a small creamy, light tan head. Aroma of bakers chocolate, alcohol, cherries, roasted malt and vanilla. Flavor is lots of rich dark chocolate with some strong alcohol warming but finishes with cherries, oak and vanilla. Really great beer, very dessert-like and good in small quantities.

Tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013 - Session 1. Pours black with a creamy beige head. Some definite alcohol notes in the nose, some dark chocolate, a bit of burnt meat. Medium to big sweet flavor, moderately boozy, with powdery cocoa, general dark malts, lightly charred malts, some torched wood. Full bodied with fine carbonation and creamy mouthfeel. Hot finish with more burnt wood, dark chocolate, light earthy bitterness. Rich and hefty but that’s to be expected given the beer’s ABV.
