3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 heavy (1956) - Split, CROATIA - FEB 28, 2011
0.33 l bottle from a local bar, where I had already found few new Czech beers before. It poured dark brown body with bigger brownish head. Nice caramel and black bread aroma, had also little bit of dried fruits. Typical, weaker flavor, but had fine coffee malt, which reveals more things as it gets warmer. Especially pronounced are raisins, quite sweet generally, with some mixed grainy and coffee dryness. Thinner in body with longer coffee and sugary finish. Fine, maybe a bit too sweet for the style, but its a fine beer anyhow.

Draft @ Prague Beer Museum. Lovely black. Rich malty aroma. Really ideal flavors are pure, excellent black lager goodness.

33cl bottle from Stockmann, Vantaa. Poured dark brown color with an almost brown head, nice lasting lacing. Aroma is roasted malt with quite strong rye notes also. Highly carbonated. Flavor is roasted and caramel malt with some chocolate also. Finish is quite dry. Decent, but there was some odd notes in the aroma I didn´t like.

Bottle from Pivo Söröző, Bp.
Pours an almost pitch black with a ruby touch and a medium sized, dark brown and creamy head on its top.
Sweet-sourish nose with vanilla and chocolate.
Begins sharp followed by a sweet-sourish aroma of vanilla, chocolate and roasted malt.
The dry finish brings dark chocolate and light notes of hops along, which remains at last in a long roasty aftertaste.
Texture is slick, body is medium. Enjoyable stuff.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mattphilips (802) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JAN 31, 2011
